9 Nintendo Wii Games for Christmas 2008
With Christmas fast approaching, you may be wondering what game or games you should get those Wii owners on your list. Well I have gone through the list of games released this year an put together a list that should get you on your way. There is a little in here for everyone, some action, some adventure and all fun. So take a look at this list and see if there is anything on it for your Nintendo fan.
Ever since the Lego franchise came to the consoles with Lego Star Wars it has been hit after hit and Lego Batman is no let down. Explore Gotham City as Batman and Robin, putting a stop to the endless schemes of Batman's rogues gallery, and that’s only the first act. In the second act you get to take control of the villains, like Joker, Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze to wreak havoc. Even when you are done all that, there is the Free Play Option where you get to unlock and collect more and more characters and gadgets. Characters like Nightwing, Hush and Batgirl. Enjoy.
Animal Crossing: City Folk
Basically Nintendo's "Second Life" game, Animal Crossing: City Folk lets you create your own character and live out his or her life on your Wii. While you can't do anything, there is enough to keep you occupied for a long time. Make friends with the villagers, make some money, called Bells here, fishing digging or doing chores for your new friends, buy or even design new clothing and furniture for yourself and your friends. City Folk also lets you take your animal online and to visit your friends' villages and see how they are progressing through the game.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Guitar Hero World Tour & Rock Band 2
Buy Rock Band 2 on Amazon
Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2, for the 2 of you that don't know, puts the music in your hands. In World Tour you can now play guitar, bass, drums and vocals, only guitar and bass were available in previous Guitar Heroes. Rock band has always had the 4 different intruments but they are now wireless in 2. Now whether you should get World Tour or go for Rock Band 2 is really up to the user as both have their pluses and minuses, with Rock Band 2 having maybe a bit of an edge. Either way there are tons of songs to play through and with the added instruments you can have your buddies over to rock out all night long.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
The original Smash Brothers was quite the departure for Nintendo as it put you in control of one many of its world famous mascots to do battle, not with some evil villain, but with other Nintendo mascots. The game was a, smash, hit (buh-dum-crash). Super Smash Bros. Brawl took this concept even further and lets your fight as or against some non-Nintendo characters such as Sonic and Snake for Metal Gear. All in all, Brawl has 32 characters for you to punish your friends with and over 40 levels to do it in. You can even take your fight to cyber space with this one and beat those faceless posers to a pulp.
Mario Kart Wii
Mario Kart, Mario Kart, Mario Kart. Trust me, if someone on your list has a Wii, they want this game. In the Wii release of Mario Kart you can choose from 24 different Nintendo Mascots, plus your Miis, to race over 32 different tracks, 16 brand new ones and 16 classic tracks from previous games. You can also take the race to up to 3 friends in your living room or 11 other racers online, for an action packed dash to the finish line. Mario Kart Wii offers hours and hours of play time, whether its racing on your own or challenging your friends to a grudge match or twenty.
