January is the month of new beginnings. Everybody has hopes and dreams. Hopes and dreams are good to have, but without putting pen to paper that is what they will be, hopes and dreams.
At the time of writing, I have written 8 articles for Infobarrel. Like everyone else I would love to write a thousand plus articles, but getting there is a completely different monster. If I could have written a minimum of 1000 articles in 2 weeks, I would have. Even though it would have meant being burnt out for another 2 weeks. I believe Infobarrel is that good.
I believe that the value writers can provide to web users are immense and I know that articles will rank fairly well in Google. I also believe that there is money to be made with Infobarrel. I'm not going to take a guess at the amounts that I could be making, but I am convinced that it can provide me with the luxury of a passive income.
A passive income will give me the opportunity to work on projects I would otherwise not have been able to. I enjoy writing and have done so all my life, but until now it has not been financially viable for me to do so.
Writing for Infobarrel is also just one part of the equation. We also need to build links to our content for it to rank well within Google's index, even though Infobarrel might be a PR7 by the end of the year.
Another part of the equation is having your articles go viral. When your articles go viral, your views can grow explosively, mainly because other people are now building links to your articles.
The last part and for most Infobarrel users the most important part is monetization. Infobarrel provides several ways for writers to earn an income whilst publishing their work. I am signed up for Google's Adsense, Amazon and Chitika and I'm mainly concentrating on Adsense at the moment. I am aware that I can make use of affiliate links, but have decided not to use it has a monetization strategy. I might in the future.
I have read several articles by users who have decided to post their earnings and goals on Infobarrel. I have found this to be very inspiring and motivating.
I would not only like to document my goals and progress to motivate me, but also to inform and inspire others. So here are my goals for the year regarding Infobarrel:
My 2011 goals
I would love to write 2000 articles this year, but let me be realistic.
I want to write a minimum of 1000 articles by the end of the year. I can easily do this by writing at least 3 articles every day.
3 articles a day will get me to my goal, but I haven't considered sick days, off days or days I feel uninspired to write. I have thus decided to write 5 articles a day. Even though it is almost double the amount I need to attain my goal, I know that there will be times that I have difficulty writing. I want to be as prepared as possible for what I can't see in the present.
I will shoot for the stars and reach the moon. At a tempo of 150 articles a month I will reach my target in 6 and a half months, that is if I can keep it up.
So, there it is. I hope to be able to write at a tempo of 150 articles a month, because I would then definitely surpass my goal. I'm hoping my passive income from Infobarrel and the sites related to this campaign will be closer to us$2000 per month at the end of the year. Impossible? Maybe not. There is only one way to find out.
I was so inspired to write this article, but only had my phone with me at the time. So, I wrote the article on my phone and edited it in MS Word.
