My 3 Favorite Shopping Rebate Apps

By Edited Jun 11, 2015 0 0

There’s nothing like getting home from shopping, and the savings continue.  I have 3 favorite apps that I use to get money back on items that I've bought in the store.  In this article, I’ll go in detail about these apps.

Ibotta: For iPhone & Android

This app is great for receiving rebates on some of the items you shop for at major grocery and drug stores.  They did an update and now they also have rebates for restaurants, pet stores, movie theaters, kids & babies, home improvement, and electronics.  Rebates start at .50 and go as high as $10.00 +.

Earning Rebates

Download the app to your phone and sign up for a free membership.  New members receive a $2.00 Sign up bonus.  Once you sign in, you see the groups you can choose from.  Earning rebates are easy.  Simply select an item you want and do simple task. You answer surveys, watch videos, and make posts to your social media profile. Increase your balance by, referring people to sign up.  Each referral that signs up will earn you an extra $5.00.  Ibotta also offers bonuses where you can earn more money for buying certain products.

SavingStar: For iPhone & Android

SavingStar is a great app for people who have loyalty cards with their favorite grocery and drug stores. Sometimes they have free offers or opportunities to receive 100% of your money back on a selected item.

Earning Rebates

Download the app and sign up for an account.  Add your loyalty cards to your account.  Choose the items that you plan to buy in the store.  When you get to the register, be sure to use your loyalty card.  Your balance doesn't change at the store.  Within 7-30 days the money is automatically added to your SavingStar account.

Cash Out

Once your account balance reaches $5, you have three ways to receive it. Or you can make a donation.  They are:

  • Bank deposit
  • PayPal
  • Amazon gift card
  • Donate to American Forest

Checkout 51: For iPhone & Android

Checkout 51 is fairly new.  I like it because it's a lot easier to use, but it does come with its down sides.

Earning Rebates

Download the app and sign up for a free membership.  That's it.  It's that simple.  Once you have completed the membership you see a list of items offering rebates.  Shop at any location you prefer. You receive $2.oo when you upload your first receipt with a qualifying item.  Their offers update every week. Make sure you check in before heading to the store.

Cash Out

Once you upload your receipt your money is usually credited to your account within 24 hours.  When your account reaches $20.00.  Yes, that's right, $20.00. Checkout 51 will send you a check in the mail when you ask to cash out. That's the downside I was referring to.

If you're not big on clipping coupons, or you just don't have the time, these are some apps that will help put a little money back in your pocket for buying the things you already need.  Sorry Windows and BlackBerry users hopefully these great apps will come to your devices soon.
