I've decided to make an update on my plan to reaching a stable small stream of passive income here on Infobarrel. The reason I had to update my plan is because I just wasn't seeing the results fast enough. I'm still a long way away from earning 5$-10$/day in passive income here on Infobarrel but it's important to never give up on your goals.
My new plan is to no longer follow Ernie's strategy of writing about whatever it is that happens to interest you at the moment. Instead, I'm going to be following jcmayer777's strategy of using SEO to write articles that people are actually searching for in the search engines. My hyphothesis is that this strategy will be A WHOLE LOT more effective when it comes to creating a stream of passive income here on Infobarrel a lot faster.
You see, I've studied Ernie's work and it's taken him almost 2 years to reach 5$/day here on Infobarrel. Although that is no small feat, it still does seem like a whole lot of time and energy for very little results. I think I'd get the most bang for my buck so to speak by following jcmayer777's advice on keyword research and SEO. I believe this same strategy will be more effective for you too.
Of course, there is a lot you can learn from members of Infobarrel like Ernie too. For instance, I remember him sharing that he always sends a tweet out every time he publishes a new article. I think this is something we can and should do too. It's something jcmayer777 doesn't do at least I don't think he does that and I think it would give him a nice little boost of income. Maybe not a huge change in income but a nice little boost. Maybe not. It's worth trying though.
Again, I think it could be fun to occasionally write about topics that write you without taking any SEO into consideration but overall keyword research is crucial to building a stream of passive income fast. This is something I'm going to need help with because I have trouble finding good keywords and key phrases to write articles about.
It would be interesting to find out from a member like jcmayer777 how long it took him to be earning 5$/day consistently through his writing here on Infobarrel.
I know that he doesn't do much article promotion or backlinking for example and that most of his traffic comes from google. Although he does occassionally share one of his links on digg. About 1 out of 10 of his articles.
I believe that if you want to be earning a consistent passive income on this site or any other similar revenue sharing site, it's crucial for you to start studying everything you can about those who are already successful at earning a passive income on these platforms. That's the key.
That's also why I recommend every Infobarrel writer gets themselves a copy of The Infobarrel Success course. I'm not affiliated to them in any way except in that I took the course myself and found it very valuable and that I really admire both the writers of that e-book.
For you newer Infobarrel writers out there, here are a few names you should look out for on Infobarrel if you want to learn from the masters: mommymommymommy, AJWalton, jcmayer777, x3xsolxdierx3x, Travis_Aitch, DKRunner, Ernie, and more. I hope to soon add my own username to that list of high earners here on Infobarrel.
Another tip I'd like to share with you is to make sure you are signed up with all 3 of these companies: adsense(of course), chitika, and amazon. The reason I am suggesting you sign up with all 3 of these companies is that although your chitika and amazon income will be lower than your adsense income, they do supplement your income quite nicely.
I have yet to reach my first payment on either one of these 3 platforms but I haven't given up.
One great piece of advice I have received is to focus all my attention on building my portfolio of infobarrel articles and my infobarrel income before I move on to any other project to make passive income. The reason for this is simple. Think about it. If you're focus is dispersed on 100 different projects, you'll likely succeed at none of them whereas if you take all that time and energy and focus exclusively on one project like Infobarrel, then you will be more likely to achieve success on here.
One thing I'm trying to do this month in order to stay motivated is to actually make an effort to win the challenge this month. I want to win the top prize of 100$ amazon gift card just as a sort of reinforcement that all my hard work and energy is paying off. I've got a lot of competition on here to achieve this goal but it should be possible. And if you do actually win that competition, that's almost equivalent to 5$/day although it's not passive income... it's pretty active income. I'm working very hard to win this competition. I'll keep you updated.
So, what does this mean for you? Well, if you're like me, you're not only writing articles for Infobarrel... you're also answering questions for WebAnswers or writing for hubpages or doing social bookmarking or dabbling in affiliate marketing. If this is the case, we share 1 big thing in common... we need to focus our energy on 1 thing instead of spreading ourselves too thin. This is key to success in creating online income. If you remember nothing else from this article, remember to focus on 1 way to earn income online and to master it before you move on to something else. All credit for that little tip goes to mommymommymommy who shared it with me and she's one of the top earners here on Infobarrel. She must be earning several hundreds of dollars a month on here in passive income. In other words, even if she stops writing altogether, she'll continue to be earning money from her previously written articles. Beautiful, isn't it?
Thanks for reading.
