NBA 2009-2010
The NBA 2009-2010 season will begin on October 27th for what should be another action packed adventure. Let us first remember what an amazing 2008-2009 NBA season we are just recently coming off of. Teams were battling for playoffs seeds until the very last second of action. The 2009 NBA Playoffs similarly were something quite extraordinary. The matchup between the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls in the first round will go down as one of the most exciting series' in the history of the game. All throughout we were witnesses to top level basketball and what made it so fun was that teams were even matched, so suspense was present throughout.
Skip forward to today, and the upcoming 2009-2010 NBA season, and it seems we are again on the verge of something special. This year many of the top contenders made some definitive moves to have a real crack at that trophy. The defending champions added NBA bad boy Ron Artest. The runners up Orlando Magic added Vince Carter among others. The Boston Celtics were able to lure veteran Rasheed Wallace on their team. Even the San Antonio Spurs who we thought were finally dropping off a level switched things up by adding Richard Jefferson as well as Antonio McDyess. We can't finish this list of high profile off season moves without mentioning the Big Diesel, Mr. Shaquille O'Neal joining the King Lebron James over in Cleveland.
As you can clearly see, the NBA 2010 season will be even better than ever. Besides the usual cast of NBA championship contenders, you have some average trying to break the mold and enter that upper echelon of teams. This includes the Washington Wizards who will see their superstar Gilbert Arenas back in action. It includes the Toronto Raptors, and their completely rehauled team including prize free agent of 2009 Hedo Turkoglu. Out west you have the Dallas Mavericks who are trying to become contenders again with the addition of the Matrix Shawn Marion.
It's most definitely going to be one of the most exciting seasons that we have been lucky enough to witness. My preditions for the 2009-2010 season is as follows:
MVP: Dwyane Wade
Rookie of the Year: Blake Griffin
Most Improved Player: Greg Oden
6th Man of the Year: Lamar Odom
That's it folks, hope you're all as excited as me for the NBA 2009-2010 season.
