The new ThunderCats tv series ts finally here! the long-awaited HOOOOOO!!!
The new ThunderCats series is a Warner Bros animation and is reboot of the classic 1980's cartoon. Produced my Sam Register, Ethan Spaulding and Michael Jelenic.
The new series premiered on July 29 2011 on Cartoon Network and launched with double episode about an hour long. a great start to get into.
The series features all the original cat-like characters Lion-O, Tygra, Cheetara, Panthro, Ally Cat, Wily Kat, Jaga, Mumm-Ra the adorable Snarf and a couple more.
The animation is created by the Japanese company Studio4 C who are veterans of anime television shows and movies. they also were the creators of Animatrix 2003 Transformers animated and Batman Gotham Knight 2008. Having this experience behind them will add momentum to the industry and increase the fan base.
The new series is packed with loads of very well done and exciting action sequences, massive explosions and big battles, it just seems like the series has stepped up and well thought through, the look of the characters in the new series are inspired by the anime style, Lion-O's hair style seems modern and shorter instead of the big mane from the original. cCharacters sizes are also exaggerated having Pantho's image bigger to show masculinity and Wilykit and WilyKat are much smaller and younger to show their age differences, generally everyone looks more lean and agile as they should be as they are cats in the end, they have increased the cat like face making them less human.
Larry Kenny the original voice for Lion-O in the original 80's series now plays the voice of King Claudus, Lion-O father.
The new adventure is different from the original 1980's ThunderCats as the story begins on planet earth instead of the planet of Thundera, could now be called the City of Thundera which is under destruction by the Mutants of Plun-Darr, under the orders of Mumm-Ra. because of this the ThunderCats are have no choice but to leave their city.
Manufacturers such as Bandai and Mesco have already showcased their line of figurines, swords and claw shields at the Toy Fair 2011- and you can imagine the quality of figurines these days.
Fans will purr over the new animation series and collectibles available as it has been long-awaited. With over 2.5 million viewers on the Cartoon Network its got to be good!
