NLP Structure of Language

In NLP, Neuro linguistic programming, language accounts for 7% of communication. The structure of language and how we use it to communicate is something you may have not thought of before. Maybe this is a brand new way or idea of communicating.

Most of time the words we use are unconscious, think about it , you talk to someone and your talking along blah blah blah and most of the time people don't stop to think about the words that are coming out of their mouths so you might say bah blah and notice you didn't quite say it the right way. Well how do we use language purposely and in a conscious way and in a way that is conscious and which produces the kind of response that we really want. How do we use language in a way that creates the results and the response we want?

To better understand this you may need to take your perspective outside of yourself. This process involves going out into the other person and turning back and looking at your self as you are doing what ever you are doing. One of the interesting things to do regarding language is to go out and imagine what the other person has to do to make sense of what your are saying . As you go out imagine going into the other person body and turning around and looking toward you and communicating with them and notice how the communication is received inside their head. What is the receiver doing inside their head.

You cannot not affect someone else's internal representational when you communicate with them every time you talk to them you are changing their internal representational system.

Conscious use of language and how do you do it with volition is the important point here. Presuppositions are the linguistic assumptions they are what is assumed by the client's speech

Listen to client and recognise what they are assuming in the process of speaking to us. You can use presuppositions to create new internal representations for the client. The Key is to make sure that we know what we are doing , can affect the client in the way that we think that we are going to affect them.

Taking language that we normally use and bringing it into your consciousness making you consciously aware of how do you use language. By the using language you can in a purposeful way produce great results.

The great communicators in our world are masters of language they may seem to use it so simply and so offhandedly and so easily that you may think oh are they really doing it? Well they are using language in a way that is so artful and very purposeful.
