Nasdaq Penny Stocks

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Nasdaq penny stocks are basically penny stocks that are traded in the Nasdaq stock exchange. The NASDAQ (National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations) is one of the largest financial exchange markets in the world along with the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange). Penny stocks are shares of companies that are being traded for under $5 and are the lowest priced stocks to trade within these major markets. This is primarily one of the reasons why investors have been increasingly interested in investing penny stocks. These companies have market capitalization of less than $250 million and have lower net tangible assets compared to larger companies trading higher priced stocks. Companies that trade as penny stocks are also know as small cap companies or micro cap companies.

One of the other reasons why investors continue to buy penny stocks is the perception that you can make a lot of profit in a very short period of time. Since these stocks are very cheap, an increasing number of investors are willing to buy them which in turn often creates interest towards a certain company resulting in an increase of stock price. Once this occurs, the some traders will begin to sell back their penny stocks and earn a quick profit which is how penny stock day traders generally make their money.

Although Nasdaq penny stocks have become very popular because of their high profitability potential, there is also a great risk that comes along with them. This high risk comes from the fact that most of these small cap companies have very low liquidity and are often subject to wild price swings in either direction. A bigger risk also comes from the possibility of becoming a victim of penny stock fraud. This has been a common case in recent years as fraudsters have taken advantage of investors with little or no experience with trading small cap company shares. Alarmingly a large number of penny stock investors simply buy according to a tip that they got from another so-called expert. Sometimes victims of penny stock fraud have even fallen for investing in companies that no longer even exist!

Investing in Nasdaq penny stocks takes time and effort on your part before you can become successful at it. Research and knowledge gained is a large factor in determining your chance of becoming wealthy through penny stocks. Picking the best penny stocks to buy is not easy and takes sound analysis before executing a profitable stock trade. This is where your patience and diligence can be tested as an investor. Hasty decisions can cost you a lot of money which is why leaving your emotions at the door and making wise investment decisions is critical.
