Natural Anxiety Remedies For Your Dog
Some dogs have a difficult time dealing with being left alone. They become riddled with anxiety when you leave your home without them.
We realized that our dog carried baggage from her past. We had adopted her from an animal shelter. It became apparent quite quickly that she had been abused. She was nervous and anxious, especially when she knew we were getting ready to leave the house. The anxiety caused her to exhibit destructive behavior. She would chew shoes, have accidents and scratch the floor.
We were at our wits end. We didn't know how to handle the situation and were very close to giving her away. It killed us to even have to consider such a drastic measure, but we were just at a loss. We did not know what to do. A friend recommended a behavior modification expert who taught us techniques to work on with our dog. The trainer suggested a few natural anxiety remedies to help our dog feel more relaxed.
Since these remedies come from nature and are perfectly safe, I was comfortable using them. To my families delight, they helped to calm our furry friend and help ease her anxiety while we worked through the training process with her. It took some time and commitment, but now she is a loyal, obedient, wonderful member of our family.
1. Essences of Bach Flower - this essential oil is extracted from the flower itself and is known to promote calm. It is available as a cream or an oral supplement. Choose the one that is the more practical choice for your dog.
2. Pheromones - Similar to the pheromones we produce for human attraction, these primer and territorial pheromones are familiar to dogs. Veterinarians have developed a plug-in diffuser that dispenses these pheromones. The dogs are calmed by them as they are the hormones their mothers release at birth.
3. Homeopathic formulas - you will find lots of options in your local pet store. There are some effective formulas but use caution. When choosing a product, make sure that it doesn't contain ingredients you cannot identify. Your dog trainer can probably offer a good recommendation.
Dogs are man's best friend. When they are plagued with separation anxiety it is usually a behavior pattern that can be broken. While working with a trainer to modify his behavior, try these wonderful natural anxiety remedies to aid your dog with relaxation during the process.

There is nothing worse than seeing your dog stressed out. We travel a lot and our blue heeler used to love it. But he shakes and carries on something shocking now.
We tried all the natural remedies they did help. We also put a towel up on both the back windows so he doesnt see out. That helped. But in the end we had to rely on a mild drug which relaxes him. Just a low dose. It was the only way so he would relax and enjoy the trip
