But you can also get cat furniture, and natural cat towers that have everything they could possible want to do with their day. Some that can take up entire rooms!
One of the great additions to cat toys and supplies is the hammock or sling, or soft cozy spots they can nap and feel comfortable, these are a great way to cushion your cat while they nap. They love to feel as though in a cocoon, so making sure to get a cat tree or tower that has curved shelves, sling or even enclosed kitty condos will work well.
Our cat loves to sleep on one shelf that has curved edges, she just seems to feel safer there and can watch the world and our dogs go by without much worry. She also picks at the carpeted sections and the natural jute to curb her need to sharpen her claws. Since getting a natural cat tower or tree I do feel I have saved my furniture for the next few years!
If you don’t have much room, a simple window shelf or real looking plants that are disguised as cat trees work well, but if you have a few cats that you need to keep busy, then venturing into the cat furniture complete with many hammocks and slings and hiding places and natural areas to pick at would be somewhat of an investment, but might just save your house and furniture from destruction, such as the one pictured.
It all depends on what your cat’s personality is like. If he or she likes to cuddle and hide then getting a tree with a condo or area to hide in would work well, but if she simply wants to sleep uninterrupted off the ground, then getting a cat sling or hammock works really well too.
This particular piece of cat furniture can be hung over an interior door or screwed to the wall so that there is no fear of falling as some cats get quite rough on these frames, and there are many places for them to curl up in and snooze. Cats always tend to navigate to higher ground so they can be in control of a room!
If you are away at work all day, then giving your younger cats something to do and play with is important, especially if they are totally indoor cats. You want to keep their weight under control and at the same time you want to protect your own furniture from the destruction of bored cats!
You can get natural cat towers and other climbing frames and trees at many larger pet supply stores but you can also get quite an assortment online at sites such as Amazon. Go shopping for your kitty!
