SAMe (S-Adenosylmethionine) is an amino acid derivative. It positively affects serotonin, which is related to relaxation. SAMe occurs naturally in the body, and recent medical advances have allowed scientists to make supplements to increase your body's level of SAMe. Tryptophan is a well-known amino acid that can be found in food. Turkey, cottage cheese, soy, and milk are good examples.
