A mole is medically called a nevus and is described as a round or oval-shaped growth on the surface of the skin. It is usually brown in color but can also be pink, red or black. It is a very common skin condition and can be found all over the body especially on the torso, face and arms. Many babies are born with it, while other people develop them as they grow older. Some do disappear with age, while others do not. If you have a mole and would like to get rid of it why not consider natural mole removal remedies.

Moles are caused by a buildup of pigment in the skin. It is the same kind of cell that gives one their own skin color and complexion. These moles occur is several different layers either single or sometimes in multiples. From a biological perspective, there is really no function for the nevus. In about 90 percent of cases, this skin blemish is completely harmless. However, in today's society and always wanting to look good, many people want to remove the mole either traditionally or use a natural mole removal option.

There is a slight risk that some nevi (plural for nevus) do become cancerous growths, so consult your family physician before trying any over the counter or natural mole removal method. Be advised, that if you notice any change in the appearance of the blemish, be it in color, shape, size and elevation, visit your dermatologist. A good common practice is to do monthly self body checks to make sure that there is no change in the mole and visit your dermatologist annually. Take proper care in summer, as the sun's rays is especially harmful and can cause a spot to develop into skin cancer.

Generally moles are removed by using over the counter products or by a doctor or dermatologist. A natural mole removal might be just as effective and the natural ingredients can be found in your own home or grocery store.

One such remedy is to use flaxseed powder, flaxseed oil and honey. Mix all these ingredients into a paste and apply to the skin blemish. With time the mole should fall off. Another natural mole removal remedy is to use raw potato slices on the skin growth itself.  Make a paste of baking soda and castor oil for another way to get rid of a mole naturally. You should notice a change on the spot after several days.

Garlic is another popular natural mole remover, which is popular and effective. The sulfur juices in the garlic cause the skin blemish to fall off with no pain or scarring. Iodine can also be used to dry up the nevus, and once dried it will fall off. Another, natural remedy is to use aloe vera gel. This ointment will get absorbed into the skin and  cause the mole to disappear.

Roast the peel of a pomegranate fruit and mix with lime juice to form a paste. Apply to your blemish and continue to use the paste for about a week. Thereafter you should notice a change in the blemish.

There are many at home mole removal remedies. The ingredients mentioned above are all natural, so there should be no side effects. Try one you never know, it might just work. If however, your mole does look suspicious, consult your doctor immediately. Do not use any alternative medicine.
