Automatic Piercing and Ejection

The capsules are automatically pierced by a needle inside the machine in order to access the powder in the capsules. Once the capsule has been used it drops it into a container below that holds 12 capsules.

Detachable Water Tank

Both have a 27-ounce water tank that can be placed on either side of the machine by rotating it on its hinges. The tank can be easily removed or reinstalled easily making refilling and cleaning easy.

Removable Drip Tray

A magnetic and adjustable drip tray makes it easy to place your cups and easy to clean after using the machine.

Used Capsules

One of the advantages of owning a Nespresso machine is that you don’t have to clean up each time you make coffee. The used capsule drawer holds up to 12 capsules making it very convenient for you to empty it out only once.

Empty Water Indicator

Both the C50 as well as the D50 have a light indicator which will tell you when the machine has an empty water tank.

Auto Shut Off

The case with both the C50 and D50 is that when the machine remains idle it automatically shuts off after 9 minutes, saving you energy costs in the long run.

Milk Frother

Both machines come with a milk frother which has a one-touch operation.  You can make a variety of beverages with this useful addition in both machines.

The Difference Between the C50 & D50

Features of the C50

The C50 is an attractively built espresso machine with a simple operation, having a detachable and rotating water tank, programmable cup sizes, removable drip tray and a 19-bar pump to get the best from the espresso capsules. The milk frother that comes with it enables you to make cappuccino and macchiato as well.

Improvements in the D50

The Nespresso D50 is a newer version of the C50 and has a differently shaped dispenser than the C50. It has the same useful features as in the C50 which makes it a great espresso machine like the C50.

How To Brew with a Nespresso

Making coffee with the C50 and D50 is really easy.  Take an espresso capsule and insert it into the brewing chamber. Press the brew button after closing the sliding lid and hot espresso will pour out in a minute. When you pull the sliding lid up again the capsule will be dropped into the used capsule container that holds 12 capsules. When you want to clean up, you can dispose of the capsules and clean the machine by removing the water container and drip tray.

Both the C50 and D50 make excellent espresso coffee. If you have to choose between the two the difference lies only in the appearance of both. They are available at great prices and you will be happy if you buy either of them.
