New Balance is known all around the world for their quality walking shoes. In fact, it's safe to say that they are to walking what Nike is to basketball and Umbro is to soccer. It makes a lot of sense that they'd be so well regarded in the industry. They spend a ton of money on research and development in order to constantly put out quality shoes for walking and running. New Balance also insists on making all of their footwear in America. I think this is wonderful in an industry that is so infamous for exploiting third world labor. In the following article, we'll outline the features and benefits, pros and cons of the New Balance 843's.

First off, these shoes are loaded with technology. New Balance is known for innovation and it really shows in these shoes. One of the coolest features you'll find on the NB 843 shoes is a ROLLBAR. This works in a very similar way to a roll cage found on some high-end pick up trucks. It prevents ankle injuries and even helps with the treatment of shin splits. Another really unique feature is the Walking Strike Path. Developed by New Balance specifically for walking shoes, this technology actually helps you learn to walk better. You see, the New Balance 843 men's and women's shoes are designed in a specific way that corrects gait and builds leg muscles. This way, new walkers won't develop bad habits early in their careers. The last bit of tech featured on this shoe is ABZORB. A lot of New Balance running shoes actually feature the ABZORB as well. It's basically an extra piece of cushioning that sits on the fore foot. It helps to soften the blow, especially if you're a tad on the heavy side.

So are the NB 843's the best walking shoe on the market? Well, I'm not sure about that but I can confidently recommend them. They're durable, comfortable and even good for people that have to stand a lot! They are also available in a wide foot version and this is great for people with... wide feet. The 843 isn't quite perfect though. They don't really offer as much support as a running shoe does. Then again, these are built for walking.
