New Cars Under 12000 dollars

By Edited Mar 18, 2016 0 0

There are plenty of new cars under 12000 dollars that can help you save tons of money. The cheapest cars in the United States usually cost slightly less than 10000 dollars. However, there are other parts of the world, where a brand new car can be purchased for as low as 2000 dollars! However, these are tiny cars with not a lot of safety standards. It is better to pay a little more and be safe than to buy something cheap that can potentially risk the lives of its passengers. In addition to looking at new cars, you may also want to look at used cars which can be very cheap. Used cars usually will have scratches, dents and dust on the surface. Other used cars may require minor repairs. Although there are drawbacks to buying used cars, if you do not have a lot of savings at the moment, it just might be the best choice. Below, I will provide some tips on how you can find the best new cars under 12000 dollars.

Inexpensive New Cars - 2012

1. Nissan Versa is the cheapest new car that you can find in the United States for 2012. The base model starts just shy of 11,000 dollars and has enough room to comfortably seat 5 people. The Versa also boasts 138 horsepower and 4-cylinder engine that comes with D-VVF. In addition, the Versa also does its best to lower carbon emissions by running on 40 mpg on the highway. If you are looking for a small family car, the Versa is an excellent choice and provides the utmost safety with its 6 airbags, traction control system and anti-lock breaks.

2. Hyundai Accent is another great car that won't cost you an arm and a leg. Although the 2013 Hyundai Accent increased in price and is currently starting at 14,545 dollars, you can save big by purchasing the older model. You can find a 2011 Hyundai Accent for as low as 10,000 dollars. Visually, the Accent is not really something to gloat at, however, it comes with a decent 110 horsepower, 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine. The Accent also comes with a respectable 37 mpg, so you don't have to worry about stopping at the gas station and filling her up all the time.

3. Kia Rio is an affordable car that comes with a slew of attractive features. The 2012 base model starts at 13,600 dollars. However, the 2010 model costs just 11,695 dollars. Like the Hyundai Accent, the Rio comes with 110 horsepower, 1.6 liter four cylinder engine. Although that doesn't sound like a lot of power, the Rio is so light that the car feels strong and fast despite its weak engine. The Rio also comes armed with a pretty impressive 32 mpg.

How to Find Cheap Cars

Always keep in mind that cars face a steep drop in prices when a new model comes out on the market. You can save a couple thousand dollars this way. Also, make sure to check the differences between the older model and the newer one. Often times, there are not a lot of changes, however, if you see an important change or improvement in the newer model that you may want in your new car, you might as well spend a little extra cash to obtain it.

How to Find Cheap Used Cars for Sale

If you looked at the list above and still are wondering whether you can afford to shell out more than 10,000 for a new car, you might want to look at used cars. Due to the poor economy, there are tons of great deals on used cars. Simply look on the Internet or your local newspaper for auto repo auctions. These cars were obtained from people who failed to make their monthly payments. You can find all sorts of cars and filter the results by price, mileage, location and condition of the car. There are great gems to be found and it's at least worth a try, before you splurge all your hard earned money on a new car.

If you follow the tips outlined in this article, finding new cars under 12000 dollars should be a breeze.
