New Yo Gotti Freestyles
When listening to a hip hop artist do a freestyle, most of the time they have material that has been pre-written or practiced. Although a lot of people get fooled into thinking that they are coming up with rhymes "off the top of their head," many know when this happens. If you aren't able to tell whether an artist is actually freestyling or writing their material, then it would probably beneficial to take a deeper look into hip hop culture and analyze some standout songs. The artist Yo Gotti is among a few artists that can actually come up with rhymes without prior recitation and without having to write down the material.
There are a couple artists that are able to do this like Common, an artist from Chicago, Illinois and Lil Wayne from New Orleans, Louisiana. The bottom line is that skills like freestyling require a lot of mental effort, proper preparation, and an overall giftedness as an artist. It seems as though the streets relate best with the material that they hear in Yo Gotti freestyles because he brings up real world issues that people can take a deeper look at and that may have actually had an effect on their lives.
Since emerging into mainstream hip hop radio in the early 2000's, Yo Gotti has been hard at work to perfect his freestyles and become a better artist. Not only has he been able to improve his ability to come up with unique phrases that rhyme, but he is able to use complex metaphors and similes to paint a picture in the listeners mind as to what is being said. So where has he done some freestyles before? He has done these for a bunch of major shows including The Deal as well as for the DVD series entitled "The Come Up."
His ability to maintain a professional image and come up with clever content never ceases to impress the new Yo Gotti music fans from down south. Despite the fact that he is a great artist and has done a lot of work on the scene of rap music, he is not as widely recognized in the north as in the south. The reason that he probably does not get quite as much exposure and promotion up there is because of a fairly modern day divide in the sub-genres of rap that plague the culture. The divide is slowly starting to collapse and more northern fans are catching on to the fact that Gotti has got plenty of skills. If you don't believe it, then check out some footage of him on the internet.
