Camera Review

If you have been thinking about purchasing a Nikon D5100 digital camera, then you'll be happy to hear that I think it's one of the nicest cameras that I have ever owned.

Here are some things that I really like about this camera:

1) The focus is super quick and completely accurate with the kit lens.

2) The pictures are bright and the color is also very accurate.

3) The monitor on the camera is very sharp and has a high contrast so I hardly ever need to use the viewfinder.

4) The vibration reduction feature works really well. When I have the VR on, I can't see the picture shake even with the lens on full zoom. I've never had a camera that has done that.
However, when I have the AF and VR on, it does have a slight delay and takes a second before recording the image. This is due to the fact that the image has to stabilize before a photo is taken. If you turn off these features and use the manual focus, the camera is much faster.

I have probably taken over a few thousand shots already. I love watching live music and have gone to music festivals to photograph bands playing live. I also just take this thing with me everywhere I go... especially on the weekends. I've taken it to state parks and have photographed the natural wildlife. I've scrapped a lot of the photos, but so would anyone. Not every picture is worth keeping. It's really a matter of taste.

Overall, I think this camera is worth every cent you pay for it. The D5100 can make you look like a professional photographer and, for you pro photographers, this camera is a real jem. I'm sure you'll be able to utilize every feature and come up with some really amazing shots.

Just remember, the camera can only take the pictures. It's up to you to be creative. The nikon D5100 is a top of the line camera that can really help you improve your photography skills.

I'm so glad that technology has come this far, you'll save tons of cash by taking digital photos instead of using real film. I give this camera five stars and two thumbs up. If you're in the market for a new digital camera,  go get a Nikon D5100. I did, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
