Nintendo DS
The Nintendo DS is a necessity for gamers of all ages.
If you have been sleeping under a rock and do not know what a Nintendo DS is, here is a brief introduction. It is basically a handheld video game, released back in 2004. You can even hook this bad boy up to a wi-fi connection for online game play.
The DS now comes in three models, the original DS, the DS Lite, DSi and the DS XL. The DS Lite isn't just for hundreds of DS games, but it is also compatible with Game Boy Advance games! One of the newest models, the DS XL comes with much larger LCD screens and preinstalled software, and you also have an entire world of downloads right on your device.
A DS of any model can cost you anywhere from $100 to $300 depending on the model and place of purchase. Under ideal conditions, the battery on a DS can last up to 10 hours on one single charge. To help keep your battery life, try putting it to "sleep" in between games and usages. Each DS has PictoCast as well! PisctoCast is a way you can communicate with another DS user wirelessly through pictures and chat. You can draw pictures or handwrite messages! There are four different chat rooms (A thru D) and up to 16 people can chat in one room at a time. The DS and DS Lite has only black colored font but the DS XL and DSi have a rainbow pen color feature that you can switch to.
When it comes to games for the DS, your options are limitless almost. You can get old school games and new releases to play on your DS, DS Lite, DS XL or DSi. Super Mario Brothers, Mario Kart, Scribblenauts and Zelda are all common and popular games to play on this device.
Games can be pretty cheap, especially if you purchase them from trade stores or offline. Trade stores, stores that specialize in buying and selling video games, can offer you some pretty sweet deals on the rare DS games. However, there is no better place to find DS games for any model than on the internet. You have hundreds of retailers and personal sellers right at your fingertips.
