Nokia's attempts of mounting a strong challenge against the likes of Samsung and Apple rests firmly on the success of its latest range of Lumia series phones. Sitting at the top of the pyramid, is the Nokia Lumia 920. It features some innovative technologies like PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack display and Pureview Camera which separate it from the rest of the pack. Running Windows Phone 8, the phone will be competing against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S3, Apple iPhone 5 and HTC One X+ in a fiercely competitive market. Nokia Lumia 920 supports quad-band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 2G networks, HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 3G networks and five band LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600 4G networks. It has a micro-SIM slot and is capable of global roaming.

The handset has a polycarbonate unibody with matte finish which gives it a nice feel and makes it is easy to grip. With the dimensions of 130.3mm x 70.8mm x 10.7mm, it is not a compact device. Furthermore, it weighs 185 grams which makes it extremely bulky. On the positive side, the phone is available in 5 different colors - Black, Gray, Red, Yellow, White which are eye-catchy and will surely make heads turn.

Nokia Lumia 920 rolls out with a large 4.5 inches IPS TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 768 X 1280 pixels. It supports up to 16 million colors and is finished with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 to resist scratches and damage. Nokia has implemented a technology called PureMotion HD+ which reduces blur, improves contrast and enhances the overall quality of the display output.

The star attraction of the Nokia Lumia 920 is its camera. The phone has a primary camera of 8.7 megapixels with Carls Zeiss optics, dual-LED flash and autofocus. Users can take photos up to a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels (max) and record true HD videos of 1080 pixels at the rate of 30 frames per second. The rear camera comes with Pureview Technology and optical image stablization which results in stellar photos. Other features include touch-focus, geotagging, lenses and much more. The front-facing 1.3 megapixel allows you take portrait photos and have videos calls of 720p @ 30 fps.

Hardware and Operating System:
Nokia Lumia 920 lands with Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor with Adreno 225 GPU and 1 GB of RAM. It has an internal memory of 32 GB but it can't be further expanded as a microSD card slot is missing. However, you get 7 GB of free SkyDrive cloud storage.

It is one of the first phones to run Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 operating system. Some of the pre-installed apps on the phone include a music nad video player, Microsoft Office, Nokia Maps, Nokia Nokia Music, Nokia Drive, Nokia Lens, Nokia Mix Radio and much more.

Nokia Lumia 920 is equipped with a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery which offers stand-by time of 400 hours and talk time of 17 hours on 2G networks. If you are on the more resource hungry 3G or 4G network, the battery offers a talk time of up to 10 hours.
