The Nokia N97 is a little phone that is not afraid to add standardized ports or external controls. This article will explain all the hype about this classy phone.


As soon as you hold the Nokia N97, you will realize that this is a weighty phone. It weighs in at 150g. It is, however, a stylish phone that comes in white or classic black, but the fact that the phone is predominately made of plastic is disappointing. It just doesn't have that luxurious feel of metal phones.

The N97 has a 3.5 inch display with 16K colors and a resolution of 360x640 pixels. This phone is a side slider; it opens sharply but closes smoothly. It offers a full QWERTY keyboard that comes in three rows. The buttons are large and comfortable to use even for those with larger fingers.


Despite the weight of this phone, the audio quality is awesome, especially through the 3.5mm headphone jack. The music player supports MP3, AAC, eAAC, eAAC+, WMA, as well as music meta-data ID3 tags and album art. Also included is an FM radio.


The Nokia N97 offers you a 5 mega pixel camera with a resolution of 2592x1944. It has Carl Zeiss optics and a dual- LED flash. The N97 also makes a great video camera. The videos record at MP4 with 640x360 resolution and you can upload videos to social networks like Flickr. It also features Geo - Tagging.

Internet Connectivity

To keep you connected where ever you travel, this phone features quad band, GSM/EDGE, 850/12900/2100 MHz HSDPA, this lets you do fast downloading and stream multimedia while on the go. You also get 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The A-GPS feature lets you find your way around quickly, whether you're driving or walking. The Nokia Maps application gives you maps with urban details and satellite views. The built in compass will always keep you going in the right direction. The Nokia N97 comes with a three month Walk and Drive navigation license.

Memory and Talk Time

The internal memory of the N97 is 32Gb and it is expandable with an optional 16Gb micro SD card for a total of 48GB. So you should more than enough memory to store your photos, music, texts, etc.

This phone comes with a rechargeable battery which if fully charge will give the user 5.3 hours of 3G talk time and 6.6 hours of GSM talk time. You also get 432 hours of stand by time. You can get 37 hours of music on a fully charged battery and 4.5 hours of video playing time.


There has been a lot of hype about the Nokia N97 and we have to admit that all the hype was well deserved. The Nokia n97 is a very solidly built phone that seems to offer all the features users are looking for today. People want a phone with full multi-media and complete internet acess and the Nokia N97 will give them what they want.
