Non-Slip Socks - Safe and Warm for Your Feet

By | Jun 30, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Non-slip socks, formerly only used in hospitals and thought to be one of the few tangible perks of a hospital visit, are now available for purchase by the general consumer! Widely available in fashionable colors and sizes, these socks add the warmth of wearing conventional socks to chilly floors and have slip prevention taken care of by use of a pattern of non-slip material attached to the sock bottoms.

Sized for all, including men, women, kids, babies and even dogs, these handy bits of clothing provide a measure of safety for those who wish to loll about in stocking feet. Because they are made from many different fabrics, there is a sock available for every wearer!

Also known as "gripper socks," these versatile types of footwear are ideal for dorm use, home-movie parties, and anywhere else where warm feet are desired. Because of the nature of the socks and the types of environments they are worn in, there is not as much of a concern with color-coordination as is common with dress socks.

Because socks are generally a "one-size-fits-all" item, there is no problem of size matching when these are ordered over the Internet. They can be ordered by gender as well as age, in the case of children, or species, as in the case of dogs!

On dogs, these socks fill a dual role of providing warmth, as is especially needed for arthritic dogs, and also for protecting easily-scarred floors from doggy toenails. They can be especially helpful in assisting toddlers as they learn to walk on chilly floors.

These socks are beginning to be available commercially in local stores. They have long been available from hospital supply stores and medical supply stores for regular consumers as they are being discovered as a warm, safe source of walking comfort.

In addition to being available for purchase commercially, these socks may be made at home by enterprising and creative persons. One method is to select the socks desired and then apply a heavy amount of Puff Paint to the bottom of each sock with a paintbrush. Be certain that the paint has had ample time to dry before attempting to walk to ensure that the paint has had time to set on the socks.

In whatever form they are acquired, whether homemade or purchased from a store, non slip socks will surely add warmth to the coldest night, dorm study session, or slumber party. Affordably priced, these socks will make a great addition to any chilly night or fireside lounge session. While you're at it, you might as well get a pair of camo shorts to go along with those socks.
