Ohaus Scales And Balances - Bench, Counting And Portable Scales

By | Sep 2, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Ohaus Scales And Balances is probably the most well known scale manufacturer in the world. They are innovators and leaders in a very competitive industry. While they do make quite a variety of different scales and balances, they're real strength lies in the laboratory, education and industrial markets. They've been serving customers from these sectors for over 100 years now. This makes perfect sense, if you think about, because schools and other similar facilities need precision, reliability and a decent price point. In this article, we'll look at three of their more popular lines of scales.

The bench scale is probably the most common type of scale found in the world today. It's used by butchers to weigh beef and by Fed-Ex employees to weigh packages. Anyone who doesn't have enough room for a floor scale, will probably look at getting one of these units for their place of business. They are small enough to fit on most work benches, yet provide the user with a quick and accurate scale. Ohaus bench scales are of exceptional quality. Most of them have large, easy to read LCD screens. This is great because when people are busy at work, they don't have time to put on their reading glasses or squint at a small screen. Ohaus also have several units that can provide different units of measurement for the end user. Do you prefer the metric system or are you more of an imperial guy? I don't think you should have to choose and neither does Ohaus!

Ohaus also makes a full line of counting scales. For those unfamiliar with counting scales, here's a quick overview. These scales basically have the ability to count. That right... You put 12 screws on the scale and it spits out the number 12 on the screen. In most cases, the scale will also tell you how much each of those screws weighs and how much all of them weigh together. So how do they work? Well, the user has to configure the scale. You basically put one screw on the surface of the scale and tell the machine that this is one screw. You then program this item into the "1" slot on your machine. The next time you need to count or weigh the same screw, you simply put them on the scale and press the "1" button. The scale does the necessary calculations and displays the results on a digital screen. What I like about the Ohaus counting scale is that it has a ton of presets - Up to 300 on some models! This means that you'll only have to do the above process once for each item.

The last type of Ohaus scale I want to discuss is the portable one. I love these little units. They're stainless steel, easy to use and allow the user the ability to take an accurate scale into the field with them. This is great for scientists, construction managers, or anyone else who does work outside of an office.
