Oily Skin Acne- What You Can Do to Get Rid of It Once and for All!
Oily skin acne and acne scarring seem to go hand in hand. The longer your face is broken out the more likely it is that you will have permanent acne scarring on your face, neck, chest, shoulders and back. Acne scarring is particularly unsightly and will greatly diminish both your physical attractiveness and your self esteem over the longterm. What can you do about oily skin acne in the first place before acne scarring becomes a much larger problem? You can use proper skin care to help reduce the abundance of oil on your skin which makes acne breakouts both less frequent and less severe.
The first thing you should understand about oily skin acne is that the excess of oil on the surface of the skin is a direct result of overactive sebaceous glands within the skin. The glands become over stimulated for a variety of reasons including hormonal imbalances from adolescence, pregnancy and aging which causes an over secretion of oil on the surface of the skin. The excess oil is in part what causes the pores of the skin to become blocked and oily skin acne to form. Other reasons for oily skin are poor diet, genetics and use of oil based cosmetics.
How to Get Rid of Oily Skin Acne
The most important way to help reduce your oily skin acne breakouts, blackheads, pimples and zits is to keep your skin clean and oil free. You should gently cleanse and moisturize your skin twice daily, in the morning and just before bedtime, with mild products specially formulated for oily skin care. It is important to use mild products with oily skin care formulations because harsher cleansers, especially those containing alcohol, will irritate the sebaceous glands and stimulate greater oil production making the problem worsen. Also be certain to use water based or oil free cosmetics to further reduce the chance of oily skin acne break outs.
A second form of oily skin acne treatment focuses on your internal body rather than the external care of your skin, adequate nutrition. Diets higher in lean proteins, and lower in carbohydrates and fats have a very beneficial effect on the quality of the skin and the rest of your health as well. Think high nutrient density foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins while avoiding fried and fatty foods, sugars and processed foods.
Getting rid of oily skin acne is not impossible, but does require a set routine of healthy skin care with appropriate products for oily skin care and changing the diet to help your body lessen the production of oils on the skins surface.
