Oily Skin Treatment - Tips On Treating The Oily Skin

By | Aug 12, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Having an oily skin is bothersome. One has to incessantly powder off the oil, do retouches, use oil-absorbing paper to clear off the oil and shine in the face. I, myself, have these problems too so I constantly find ways (like the oily skin treatment) to solve this dilemma.

No one is exempted from oily skin. Oily skin affects not only the teenagers but the adult as well. This skin type is usually hereditary, caused by pregnancy and stress. This skin type is also prone to acne outbreaks so this is another problem that I myself deal with. To remedy this problem, there are simple acne and oily skin treatments and tips anyone can do.

The first tip is to keep the skin clean. Cleanse the face and neck two times a day to keep the skin clean. This will help unclog the pores and free them from dirt. This also diminishes oil too. Washing twice a day is just enough to clean the skin. Doing more than twice will dry out the skin from its natural moisture. Make this as a part of your beauty regimen to prevent accumulation of dirt in the pores which causes acne. In addition, use a cleanser or toner with AHA or alphahydroxy acid, tea tree oil and salicylic acid as these are very effective ingredients to eliminate oil. Use an oil-free moisturizer after cleansing the skin. Never forget to apply sunscreen for sun protection. You can also ask your dermatologists for product recommendations.

The second tip is to use the right kind of makeup. Never go for makeups which are oil-based as this can only alleviate your skin condition by having acne breakouts. Read and reread the label. Before buying any makeup, watch out for signs indicating that the makeup is oil-free. The most recommended makeup for the oily skin type is the mineral-based makeup. This type removes excess oil from the skin. Apart from that, it also provides protection from the sun. Another tip related to this is to keep your makeup brushes clean as the brushes can become bacteria haven. Bacteria causes acne so be sure to keep them all clean.

The third tip is to use acne treatments moderately. Acne treatments can dry up the skin if applied all over the face so be sure to apply ONLY on the affected areas. Check the ingredients of the acne treatments. The medication should include benzyol peroxide, salicylic acid and tea tree oil in them. Do not forget to put sunscreen on the treated part because the affected area is more prone to sun damage.

Fourth tip is to use oil absorbing paper. As I have mentioned in the first paragraph, this is effective in removing excess oil and shine.

The final tip is to consult the dermatologist. Dermatologists can recommend treatments that can help flush out excess oil in the body. He or she can also prescribe medicines that are not found in drugstores. These medicines are typically the most effective ones but can be only consumed provided that a doctor is overseeing the treatment.

These oily skin treatments will not fail you. Who knows? The oily skin treatments might do well for your oily skin.
