Romance is Born
The sun rises and the day is showing signs of being overtly glorious. You have a date planned with someone, who you hope will become your very own Mr. Darcy, but where to go and what to do?
One fabulous idea for the romantic, history buffs, is to visit a historical site, a place which has some great and ponderous significance, or aesthetic beauty. Such an environment with a background of significance or beauty, is liable to inspire deep conversation and intense and meaningful communication. Take a picnic basket filled with fresh bread, cheese, olives, fruit and champagne, find a spot under a shady tree, ponder the past, look to the future and live in the moment.
Music And Mountains
Why not drive to the ocean for a swim, or the mountains to pick mushrooms? Play a CD of The Swan by Camille Saint-Saëns and Liebestraum by Franz Liszt, as you sail along the highway, with all the windows open, eating strawberries. Take time to roll in the grass, stretch in the sand, or run through fields of wild flowers. Take photos of wild life and eat smoked salmon and avocado under a shady tree. Doze off in the shade, as you while away the afternoon.
Go fishing on the river and take turns reading poetry. Drink champagne, eat lobster and dark chocolate. Wait untill the sun goes down and drift along looking at the stars. keep warm under a blanket. Plan and dream.
If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only. Do not say
"I love her for her smile her look her way
Of speaking gently, for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of ease on such a day"
For these things in themselves, Beloved, may
Be changed, or change for thee, and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheek dry,
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou may'st love on, through love's eternity.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
