Online Business Tips
If you are interested in developing an online business or writing online for profit, here are some tips to keep in mind.
1. Patience, Grasshopper! Perhaps you write for your own monetized blogs or web properties, or perhaps you write for ad revenue sharing websites such as InfoBarrel, or perhaps you do a bit of both. Either way, you need to be patient. Why is patience such an important virtue for Internet Marketers to have? Well, for one thing, you need to be patient while you articles "age" or "mature," thereby gaining more credibility in the eyes of Google and all of the other search engines.
You also need to be patient with yourself in terms of not giving up. Too many Internet Marketers and online business owners give up too quickly. They lack the patience on all fronts that this type of work requires. If you are not a naturally patient person or if you struggle with a desire for instant gratification, you will need to work on developing more patience so that you can succeed in achieving your online business goals.
2. In addition to being patient, you also need to develop some effective keyword strategies. Read everything you can get your hands on about how to choose your keywords in a way that makes your articles search engine optimized. Keyword selection is a vital part of your online business planning strategy, and the more you can learn about keyword selection and SEO, the better.
3. Be diligent and productive and set goals that you will work hard to achieve. Not only do you need to be patient with yourself and knowledgeable about keywords and SEO (search engine optimization), you also need to work really, really hard and be very productive. Set productivity goals for yourself, such as "I want to produce X number of monetized online articles per day (or per week), and then work your absolute hardest to achieve the online business or Internet Marketing goals that you set for yourself.
It can help to write down your goals in a journal. Some people find that they are even more inclined to achieve their productivity goals if they actually write those goals down as a way of holding themselves accountable. Actually, some people even record their goals in a public forum (such as on their personal blogs) in order to hold themselves even more accountable, thereby increasing their chances of achieving said goals.
4. Decide if outsourcing is a good option for you. When it comes to productivity, you need to decide what is more precious to you, your time or your money. If you happen to have some money set aside to invest in your online business, you may ultimately decide to outsource some (or most or even all) of your article writing. If you do decide to outsource some or all of your writing, you will want to choose the freelance writers that you hire very carefully. Make sure they really "get" you, your style, and your overall vision and goals for your online business.
This way you can still achieve your productivity goals for your online business, but other writers will be producing some, most, or even all of the actual articles for you. (It is worth noting that some people don't like the idea of delegating or outsourcing anything at all, even if they can afford to do so, and if outsourcing is simply not your cup of tea, that is perfectly fine.)
