Oracea Side Effects - Two Groups of Side Effects

By Edited Jun 2, 2016 0 0

Side effects are conditions that may arise as a result of taking any medications. This can be caused by allergic reactions or from using a combination of treatments. Unfortunately, every medicine has a list of side effects and Oracea is no exempted. In this article, you will learn about the oracea side effects.

There are always risks in taking medications. Therefore, it is only right that we know what we are ingesting. We should know what lies ahead after we use a certain product. Let me help you by citing side effects of a medication for rosacea.

Oracea side effects can be divided into two groups. There's the serious and the minor side effects. The minor side effects involve:

  • Vaginal discharge or irritation
  • Swollen rectal or genital area
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Upset stomach and indigestion
  • Difficulty in swallowing
  • Inflamed tongue

The serious side effects, on the other hand, are as follows:

  • Bleeds or bruises easily
  • Abnormal feebleness
  • Skin or eyes turning to yellow (or turning pale)
  • Appetite loss
  • Upper stomach and back pain
  • Elevated heart rate
  • Dark-colored pee
  • Fever and flu
  • Scaling and blisters, rashes
  • Headache
  • Lightheadedness
  • Haziness or foggy vision

Apart from the side effects mentioned above, you can exhibit allergic reactions such as itching, hives, swollen mouth, lips, face, throat, or tongue. If you have experienced any of these side effects, immediately seek medical attention or call your health provider. In addition, please stop using the medication as it can bring you further damage.

Don't be afraid of what you have read in this article. Not just yet. Not all who ingest Oracea display these side effects. There are many participants of the clinical trials who were able to go through the whole study without exhibiting the serious side effects. There are also those who can tolerate the effects.

Sadly, there is no way for your doctor to know beforehand if you will have the side effects above. There is no way of determining that most especially if you have not used or taken this medication or any medication related to Oracea. There is something you can do, though, to trim down the chances of getting adverse effects. You can give your doctor a heads up if you are taking the following medicine:

  • Cholestyramine, colestopil or any other medication that lowers cholesterol level
  • Penicillin antibiotic, dicloxacilin, oxacillin
  • Blood thinners
  • Multivitamins especially those that contain calcium, iron, magnesium
  • Anything that contains bismuth subsalicylate
  • Antacid
  • Isotretinoin
  • Tretinoin

The drugs above cannot be taken in combination with Oracea so it is important that you tell this to your doctor before he or she prescribes you with Oracea. Do not forget to mention if you are taking herbal medicine, vaccination, or any other medicine from other doctors. Having heard this, your doctor can either change your dosage or prescribe you with a different medication.

Each of our bodies reacts differently to what each of us ingested so not everyone can have the Oracea side effects listed here. One thing is for sure – you should tell your doctor everything he needs to know so that he may have the right diagnosis. Take care!
