GMOs and Genetically Engineered Food
Monsanto's Criminal Act Of Slowly Poisoning The Public
Producing Genetically Engineered food has become an acceptable practice but with the help of advocates and activists getting the word out to the public has opened consumers eyes to how dangerous Genetically Engineered food is to their long-term health.
GE is known as Genetically Engineered food or Genetically Modified food. Genetically Modified foods are foods produced from organisms that have had specific changes introduced into their DNA using the methods of genetic engineering. DNS stands for Deoxyribonucleic acid, a self-replicating material present in nearly all living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes. It is the carrier of genetic information.
The Acronym GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organism and is an organism whose genetic material have been altered using genetic engineering techniques.
Many consumers are not aware that most of the food sold at the local grocer has been genetically engineered/modified. Whether its produce, deli meat, dairy, frozen food and especially prepared meals genetically modified food hold a mix of chemicals like toxic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, artificial hormones, antibiotics and GMO's. Companies like Monsanto (the largest culprit) pay billions of dollars to keep their farming practices quite because they know that if the public was more aware of how the food they buy was grown/produced that they would probably not buy it. Monsanto also pays billions of dollars to prevent the labeling law to take effect. Advocates and activists work hard everyday in the hopes of labeling food packages to tell the consumer that what they are buying has been GE and holds GMOs. Consumers have the right to know exactly what is in the food they are buying.
Here is some food for thought. Smoking cigarettes is bad for your health and the reason being is because the tobacco in cigarettes are filled with toxic chemicals that contribute to many diseases. Eating GE/GMO food is bad for your health and the reason being is because the foods are filled with toxic chemicals that set course to many diseases. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approves food for consumption and it is because the amount of toxic chemicals is minimal but people eat GE/GMO food several times a day everyday. Think about it for a moment. Every meal or snack a person eats is GE/GMO filled food. Doesn't this comparison of cigarettes and GE/GMO food make more sense now?
I learned about GE/GMO food from Social Media websites . Of course I understood that huge companies controlled the food industry but I never knew about GE/GMO food. I was not aware of companies like Monsanto tampered with the growth process of fruits and vegetables. As I learned more about chemicals being used to grow crops of produce faster I started buying organic fruits and vegetables. Why eat fruits and vegetables if they are genetically engineered? Sounds counterproductive doesn't it?
I've been browsing the grocery stores isles to find products that are properly labeled with the USDA organic label and the non GMO Project Verified label. It puts my mind at ease when I see products labeled 100% organic because I know the United States Department Of Agriculture approved the product. If I'm going to spend extra money to buy organic I want certainty that I am getting exactly what I'm buying.
The pictures below show products that I have found available at different grocery stores. As I browsed to find organic products I noticed that each time I shopped there were more USDA organic and non GMO Project Verified products stocked the store shelves. The more people who buy organic the more organic products will become available at the local grocer. I want grocery stores to supply more organic because I don't want to make a special trip to a specialty store. I appreciate one stop shops. I know my actions of buying organic will help increase the need of more supply.
Pork - Poultry - Meat if bought organically is a lot more expensive but think of the long-term effects. Eating organic leads to better health in the long run. I know it is expensive but I've changed my eating habits for the better because I've started to buy organic pork, poultry and meat and eat less of it. I've adjusted to the change and feel I'm a lot more energetic and I've dropped a few extra pounds. I started preparing meatless entrees and I've now fine with it. At first I missed it and feel I went through a short-lived withdrawal but now it's all good.
I learned that Waldbaums located in Baldwin New York sells organic deli meat. Not many brands are available but as of 2014 I found one deli meat that is available. Plainville Farms Turkey natural deli meat is available and is delicious. Juicy and super fresh and the taste is above the rest. Plainville Farms is all natural ingredients, gluten free, casein free, no nitrates, and no MSG. The next time you stock up on cold cuts request Plainville Farms.

One more vital tidbit of information I want to share is when I started to eat GMO free food I started to drop weight naturally. It amazed me at how much I was eating and was still dropping the pounds. In the first few months of the transition to eating more GMO free foods, I lost twelve pounds without trying. I look forward to see how much weight I will drop over the course of a year because of eating mostly GMO free food.
