Organic Shampoo - Better Than Cancer, Allergies And Birth Defects!

By | Apr 29, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Who wants to live in a world of harmful chemicals that mess with our health - and worse - the health of our unborn children? Anyone? I didn't think so. What can we do about the fact that this is exactly the kind of world we live in then? More than you might think! Anyone can start taking charge of the healthiness of their surroundings, and the more people doing it - the easier it gets!

One good place to start is with the substances we put on our bodies. I am talking about cosmetic products like lotions, shampoos and conditioners of course. Stop buying the traditional stuff that promises you beautiful hair, but doesn't for a second mention the real price you pay to get that - dangerous chemicals that stay in your body forever, even causing damage to your unborn children. Start looking at organic shampoo and conditioner, to make your hair beautiful using only natural ingredients in the process. What exactly is organic in this context then? Well, it can be a bit difficult to pinpoint, as there is no universal standard for manufacturers to follow when making organic hair care products. Some get away with merely sticking the word "organic" on the bottle, while others take it much more seriously, replacing artificial ingredients with their natural counterparts where they exist - and omit them completely (or research them) when they don't. The best way to be sure of what you are getting, is to start reading the labels of content on the products you buy. These labels should state clearly what is in the bottle, no matter what it is. And hey - if there is no label at all, you should really put the bottle back on the shelf, ok?

To make sense of all the weird names of subtstances, you could seek out information from one of the many non-profit organisations that provide it. Some are goverment funded; others are the result of private initiatives, but the ones you should trust are most definately independent from the cosmetics industry. They can provide you with the education that you unfortunately still need to choose the right products. You will be surprised at what is actually hiding behind some of those cryptic names on a label. Sometimes it may even be a perfectly natural and healthy thing - even if the chemical name for it is 50 characters long.

To all those with allergies out there, remember that just because something is natural and organic, does not mean you will not react badly to it. Pollen from wild flowers is natural and organic, but will still make you sneeze. You should go for organic hair shampoo with no perfume in it.
