The town of Ortisei is one of three Italian cities located in Val Gardena, a valley in a section of the Italian Alps known as the Dolomites. The town is home to 5,500 year-round residents, most of who are of the Ladina culture. Ortisei Val Gardena is a popular tourist destination, and is best known throughout the world for its optimal location; for rock climbing, hiking, and downhill skiing, and for its rich history of woodcarving, and more recently for several of its luxury spa and sports hotels.

It boasts a bustling town center with plenty of shopping opportunities, several pedestrian-only areas, and a population that speaks not only Ladin, but also German and Italian. Ortisei, together with the neighboring towns of Selva and Santa Crestina Gherdeina, feature 84 ski lifts, and 176 kilometers of downhill ski slopes. If downhill skiing is not your preferred winter activity however, there are also several cross-country ski trails and snowshoeing opportunities, and many of the fitness centers associated with Ortisei's luxury hotels feature exercise groups and provide regimens specifically designed for individual guests.

Ortisei is recognized for its great tourist appeal and provides accommodations with facilities that are guaranteed to satisfy even the most demanding customers. Ortisei hotels are welcoming and well equipped, and are extremely easy for visitors to locate, because of the town's color-coded hotel system; each area hotel is designated a specific color, and within the town, arrows of that color direct visitors right to the hotel's front door.

Three of the highest quality and most inclusive hotel Ortisei options are the Hotel Adler Ortisei, the Hotel Grones Ortisei, and the Hotel Gardena Grodnerhof Ortisei. Each of these hotels offers guests the opportunity to escape from the demands of everyday life, into luxurious surroundings that offer only the best in terms of service, food and drink, and spa treatments, all within the ideal alpine setting of Val Gardena.

If you are traveling as a family and hope to have some time apart from the kids, the Hotel Adler Ortisei offers children's facilities on the premises that are guaranteed to enchant the younger members of your family. These facilities include a mini-zoo, and adventure playground, and a sports center that facilitates all kind of team sports, and encourages children to engage in-group activities.

Guaranteeing a thoroughly luxuriant holiday, the town of Ortisei and its surrounding areas provide relaxation, entertainment, and small town hospitality to its cosmopolitan clientele.
