An outdoor playhouse is a great addition to your children's toy collection. It can be placed in your backyard or garden or used as your kid's small home while the whole family is outside. If you want a customized playhouse however, it is recommended that you build a wooden playhouse yourself.

This can be a fun-filled activity for the whole family since the children can help you build it and they can see how a house is built. The excitement in doing this yourself is incomparable. Aside from that, you can even customize the furniture inside the playhouse.

A one-storey playhouse is a great idea but for those with a lot money to spend on their children, a playhouse that has a second floor is also feasible. These toys can be bought online as well so all you have to do is place an order on the design you like and wait for it to arrive on your doorstep.

A castle playhouse for example is a great idea but you should ask your children first what they want. There are house plans that are designed to be easily assembled and in the event that you have to move or want to put the playhouse in another part of the garden, you can easily disassemble it as well. When the kids are already grown up, you will be able to store it in the garage too. All you have to do is look for a house plan that can do all these: after all, that playhouse is not going to be a permanent fixture in your backyard.

When making the outdoor playhouses, make sure that all the parts are secured together. A lug and plug type of home will make it easier for you. Interlocking logs or panels are also advisable and by following the instructions you will be able to learn how to do this on your own. If you think you cannot make that outdoor playhouse on your own, it would be best to call a carpenter. Getting professional help with the building is advisable since it has to be perfectly safe for the kids to play there. The house should be very sturdy as well and can hold your weight and the weight of your children.
