Outdoor Umbrellas

By | Aug 24, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0
Outdoor umbrellas are not only quite attractive, they are also very functional. Outdoor umbrellas can be found to suit all kinds of tastes and styles. All types of umbrellas are available and include patio, adjustable, beach and side post umbrellas. By doing some research on all of the options that are available, it should be no problem to find the perfect umbrella to fit your needs.

A search on the internet will show many choices for vendors who sell outdoor umbrellas. For those who prefer, these products are also available from traditional walk-in home and garden retailers. There are choices of traditional wooden frame and pole market umbrellas as well as umbrellas with aluminum frames and poles and umbrellas with fiberglass ribs.

Some come with side-post mounts so that the umbrella can be positioned to protect the user from the sun's rays. Stands and bases for these outdoor umbrellas are also available in a variety of materials and styles. Plastic covers that fit over the umbrella are useful in protecting the fabric and framework when it is not in use for a period of time, such as over the winter. Many fabrics used are stain-resistant and fade-resistant so they can stand up to the constant exposure to outdoor elements. Canvas has been the traditional fabric used for umbrellas but fabrics can be found to suit any taste. There are solid colors, stripes in a large variety of color combinations and floral designs as well as other prints.

Not only are these patio umbrellas decorative, they are very functional also. They provide shelter from the harmful UV rays from the sun. They provide a great place for an outdoor meal when they are mounted over a picnic or patio table that is designed for use with an umbrella. This not only provides a very attractive setting for a meal while enjoying the outdoors, but provides some protection from the weather as well. One type of umbrella that many people enjoy using is a beach umbrella. These come in different types to fit different needs. For the occasional beach trip, the simple beach umbrella with an aluminum pole that can be driven into the sand is probably the best and least expensive choice.

For those who go to the beach often or actually live on or near the beach, a sturdier umbrella that will withstand more use is probably a better choice. Canopies are available from many outdoor umbrella dealers and a canopy has the advantage of being larger and can accommodate more people at the beach than a single umbrella can.

The uses for outdoor umbrellas are numerous. Whether you want to stretch out in the shade and read a good book at the beach or enjoy protection from the sun while relaxing on your patio or deck or entertaining guests, a suitable product for your needs should be easy to find with all of the choices that are available. Many of the umbrella products offered today are very sturdy and if cared for properly, will last for years.
