Introducing Paisley Farm’s Four Bean Salad

Paisley Farm’s Four Bean Salad is both delicious and healthy. I purchased this four bean salad at Costco, and it is an excellent value at $5.99. This four bean salad comes packaged in a 64-fluid ounce (1/2 gallon) jar, ready to eat. Refrigerate after opening.

Why is Paisley Farm’s Four Bean Salad so delicious and healthy?

What makes this brand of four bean salad so tasty is the perfect combination of the sweet and the tangy. It is so good, that you forget that it is wholesome, too.

Beans, in general, are healthy, and each variety contributes something significant to a nourishing diet. The Paisley Farm’s Four Bean Salad contains the following beans:  green, kidney, ceci, and wax.

Let’s look at their individual nutritional values:

Green-beans*, which come in three varieties:  string (or runner-beans), stringless (or French-beans), and snap-beans are full of vitamin A and vitamin C.

Kidney-beans*, a.k.a. ‘chili-beans’ and ‘red-beans,’ are nutritional wonders. Health goodies such as:  folate (vitamin B9), dietary fiber, manganese, molybdenum, protein, thiamin (vitamin B1), phosphorus, iron, copper, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin K are all found in these little kidney beans.

Wax-beans* are members of the snap-beans family, which are, in turn, members of the green-beans family. And like green-beans, they offer vitamin A, vitamin C, and folate.

“Beans have significant amounts of fiber and soluble fiber, with one cup of cooked beans providing between nine to thirteen grams of fiber.[1] Soluble fiber can help lower blood cholesterol.[1] Beans are also high in protein, complex carbohydrates, folate, and iron.[1]”

Also factoring into the healthy benefits of this four bean salad is the absence of preservatives and other chemical food additives. In addition to the green, kidney, ceci, and wax beans, the only other ingredients found in this four bean salad are:  sugar, onions, vinegar, dextrose, water, red peppers, salt, and spice. Paisley Farm’s Four Bean Salad is marked as, “All Natural.”

Four bean salad is an excellent choice for vegetarians and those seeking a healthier lifestyle.

Because of the health properties of four bean salad, it is an awesome addition to vegetarian diets. The high protein and iron content of beans make them an ideal meat substitute. The easiest and quickest way to serve this festive looking four bean salad is to dip it into a serving bowl. If you are looking to dress it up a bit more, then try presenting the four bean salad over a bed of shredded lettuce. The lettuce is both pretty, as well as nutritional.

You will want to look for their five-bean-salad. I found it on Amazon. Their five-bean-salad contains the same beans as their four bean salad, plus pinto beans. Pinto beans are a powerhouse of nutrition, featuring such big names as:  molybdenum, folate, dietary fiber, tryptophan, manganese, protein, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, potassium, copper, and vitamin B1 (thiamin).** This five-bean-salad is also sold at Sam’s Club.

Paisley Farms also makes pickled vegetables and relishes. I have not yet tried these, but they are on my ‘want to try’ list. Look for all their products at farm markets, specialty food stores, grocery store chains, and warehouse stores.

Every Christmas, my family and I look for one new side dish or dessert to accompany the traditional turkey and ham. This year, in our quest to eat more healthy and whole foods, we selected this four bean salad.

My mom and I were shopping at Costco, when we spotted the Paisley Farm’s brand jar of four bean salad. We had never eaten any of their products; actually, we had never heard of them. But still needing our ‘new dish’ for Christmas, we bought it, and gave it a taste. Everyone in the family loved it! Even my dad, who considers Cheetos to be ‘health’ food, loved this four bean salad. This proves the point that delicious can be wholesome, and when you need to get a picky eater to eat better, turn to Paisley Farm’s Four Bean Salad.

Holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving, though, are not the only occasions where four bean salad can shine. Chill it beforehand, and serve at picnics, tailgates, barbecues, etc.
