Pandora Charm Bracelets Are All The Rage Right Now
I never thought I'd see the day where I am planning for my daughter's sweet 16 birthday party. It's a milestone birthday and an honor to plan. I must admit, it can be difficult to shop for her, unless I throw her a few gift cards from her favorite stores. I'm sure she'd love a Forever 21 Gift Card and a few Abercrombie and Aeropostale cards, but I think giving gift cards to your child is tacky. On the other hand, I realize that at this age, kids like to shop for what they like, and it's not fair to force your child to wear something that YOU think looks great, just because you like it. Once I was able to plan her Sweet 16 Birthday party with her, we invited ten of her closest friends. She suggested that we send an invitation on Facebook for her birthday, but I wasn't having it. I sent out regular invitations by mail. Yes, I'm a bit old fashioned: I still send thank you cards, and I still wrap birthday presents in the most elegant wrapping paper and bows that I can find. Giving someone a gift should be fun from start to finish. Once I was done planning her birthday, her father and I sat down and discussed what we should get her as a birthday gift. My husband said that we should get her a Pandora Charm Bracelet, and I didn't pay much attention to it, having never heard of Pandora charms before.
What Are Pandora Charm Bracelets?
Later that evening, my husband brought up the Pandora charm bracelet again. I asked him to elaborate on this idea. He explained that Pandora Charm Bracelets are all the rage. They are pretty silver bracelets that you buy for someone, and you can purchase a variety of charms separately and give them as gifts on special occasions. He then explained that he would like this to be a special father-daughter gift, and apparently I was not included in his plan. I thought this was a sweet idea, and went with him to check them out at the local mall.Â
Of course, there was a Pandora shop which had the bracelets. We paid $70 for a silver charm bracelet. We looked through the charms to find a special one. I asked if they had a Sweet 16 charm, and they said that they did. After looking through the many display cases of charms, they said that they were out of the Sweet 16 Charm. We called a Pandora dealer on the other side of town and were told that they had the Sweet 16 Charm in stock, and requested that they hold it for us. As you can imagine, we raced across town as quickly as we could to make sure that the charm was still there when we got there. Unfortunately, there was not one single authorized Pandora Jewelry dealer in town other than those two stores, so our options were very limited.
My husband was insistent on buying at least one charm for her before we left the store. There were hundreds of beautiful charms to choose from. There were birthstone charms, soccer charms, animal charms and bead charms. I never imagined there would be so many different things available to put on a bracelet, each with its own special meaning. My husband finally decided on a present-shaped charm, that was silver. It was just under $40. I found the prices to be a bit high, but upon inspection of the charm bracelet and charms I found them to be high quality. I especially liked the safety clasp that the bracelet had, which made it seem very secure. Pandora charm bracelets also come with a 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects.Â
I can only hope that this Pandora Charm Bracelet radiates the love and thoughtfulness that we felt while we were picking it out. It was a bit scary, purchasing such an expensive bracelet for a while who still occasionally forgets to clear her dinner plate, but I still think it was well worth it. I anticipate my husband continuing to purchase charms for her on upcoming special occasions as time goes on. I think it will be a great bonding experience for both of them. Maybe next year he will buy her the silver car charm to add to her bracelet. This way, she can tell all of her friends that he dad got her a car for her 17th birthday! How cool is that!?
