Panton Chair

It is not surprising to find many people wanting to make their living rooms exceptional. Verner studied under another legendary furniture maker, Arne Jacobsen, who had great innovative designs to his credit as well. Jacobsen influenced Verner who in his numerous European trips perfected his designs and produced the prototype for what we now know as the Panton chair. This unusual chair was later adapted by many different designers worldwide and in Europe as well and has become one of the major chair contributions of modern times. It is definitely the chair of choice if you are looking for an ideal design. The chair is also easy to move around and therefore a convenient way to arrange for alternate seating especially when one is beset with unexpected guests.

We mentioned the fact that Verner Panton loved to travel. These trips were made in his VW van which traveled from city to city in Europe. The ideas he garnered while on the road formed the creative material that he later employed to create one of the most innovative minimalist chairs.

After the success of the chair at the Rivoli, Panton knew he had to transcend just the local scene and the chair was then marketed throughout Europe and the rest of the West. Even in US, the Panton chair has become a grea minimalist example and other designers have quickly emulated its innovative design.

We mentioned the way the chair debuted at the Rivoli in Copenhagen. This gave Panton the recognition that he needed to finally launch his own company Other interior designers also emulated him and it became a quick hit not just in commercial circles but also in domestic ones as well. It was no longer uncommon to see the chair being marketed for homes and backyards which soon became one of the ways to add a minimalist design to your home.

From Denmark to London and Paris and New York, the Panton has transcended the world of minimalist design to become a world-renown chair that has a wide and steady market. It can be seen in many offices and also people's living rooms and backyard. The chair is also marketed by many furniture retailers the world over.
