Remember those times when you would get home from your date and you could spend time hanging out, maybe sitting in that old porch swing just hoping for a kiss? Sure, some people still have porch swings and are on speaking terms with their neighbors. Now, more people have patio swings in their backyard. These typically come with their own type of cushion. It is simply part of the design of the patio swing. Now, there are also patio swing cushions that are made specifically for those old porch swing styles as well. These are made to fit the shape and size of your particular swing. You can find patio cushions for brand name swings much easier, because they have a recognized size and shape. Don't think that this should discourage you from trying to find a cushion for your custom porch swing.

Most patio swings are made of wood and this will age and get rough or splintery over time. With proper care and attention you can avoid this for the most part. Another thing that will help is using the patio cushions like we have been discussing. It isn't the intended purpose, but it does work to prevent the elements from getting to your swing. You will also be much more comfortable with it anyway, so it is a win-win. The other side benefit is that you can spend more time on the swing with your little lovebird and that is always a good thing. The longer you can sit and swing, the more likelihood of getting the toe-tingling smooch before your next big date.
