Permanent Facial Hair Removal Methods

By | 1 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Out of all the places to have unwanted hair, having unwanted hair on your face is by far the worst. Your face is the first thing people see and how they will remember you. If this is a problem for you, you should learn about the different options for permanent facial hair removal and decide which is best for you.

Why Permanent Facial Hair Removal?

The first question you must ask is why should you try to remove your facial hair permanently? Don't normal methods of hair removal work? And what justifies the large costs for the procedures that remove your hair permanently. For starters, despite a large initial price tag, having your facial hair removed permanently saves you money in the long term. Add up the prices of all the razors, waxes, creams, or other treatments that you will use to keep your face free of hair over the course of a year or two and see if this is more than the cost of the facial hair removal procedure you are thinking about having. Odds are it is.

Having your facial hair removed permanently is also more convenient and removes a lot of the worry from your life. Never again will you have to worry about whether or not you missed some hairs or if you have some smaller hairs that are growing back. Facial hair removal is also generally safe and is not much different than hair removal on other areas of your body.

Causes of Facial Hair

There are several different causes of facial hair. Most of the time growth of facial hair is a direct result of hormonal changes and imbalances. One major cause of facial hair growth in women is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which causes excessive facial hair growth. Aging also causes hormonal imbalances that can cause facial hair growth. As we age, some previously dormant hair follicles can become active, causing excessive facial hair growth.

Facial Hair Permanent Removal Methods

There are two major, effective types of facial hair removal. They are electrolysis and laser hair removal. Both will get rid of your facial hair but will have their pros and cons. The cost of laser hair removal is slightly higher than the cost of electrolysis, but it is also much more effective.

Electrolysis is the first method that you can use. It is most effective if you have a few stray hairs that you want to treat. When you go for treatment a small electrical shock will be administered to a hair follicle that kills it and removes the hair. The only real side effects are some redness after the procedure.

Laser hair removal is the second effective method of facial permanent hair removal. It costs anywhere between two hundred and eight hundred dollars per visit, depending on the size of the area you want hair removed from and where you live. The price also depends on the type of laser that you use. IPL hair removal costs slightly more than traditional laser hair removal, but it is much more high tech. Facial laser hair removal is much the same as the procedure used in back hair removal and other areas of your body. It is less likely to leave a scar than electrolysis, but it also really only works when there is a contrast between the color of your hair and the color of your skin. So if you have a patch of light, peachy fuzz you would like to get rid of or if you have darker skin, this method will not work as well. You also must be very careful if you are trying to have hair removed from anywhere near your eyes, such as your eyebrows. Lasers can cause permanent, irreversible damage to the eyes very easily.

Permanent facial hair removal is getting more and more affordable every year. There is no reason for you to have to deal with the daily routine of getting rid of noticeable facial hair when you can get rid of it for good in a few easy treatments.
