Philadelphia Phillies: Their Recent History

By Edited May 28, 2015 0 0

The Philadelphia Phillies suffered through some rough seasons after their appearance in the 1993 World Series. After losing to Toronto that year, the Phillies did not make a single playoff appearance for another 14 years.

Things have been quite different in the past five years.Philadelphia has put together talented rosters in each of those years and has made the playoffs in every season. The 2011 team even set a team record for wins, but the squad fell short in the National League Divisional Series to the eventual champion St. Louis Cardinals.

Sixty-eight year old Charlie Manuel has led the Phillies since the 2005 season.
