These Piggy Banks for Kids Are Fun and Can be a Great Learning Tool

Remember that first savings account you had?  It wasn't at the bank.  It wasn't a mutual fund.  It was a piggy bank.  I don't remember exactly what mine looked like, but I do remember that I had one.  I remember the exhilaration of being given some change and running to put it in the piggy bank.  Nevermind that I had no idea how to get the money out, it was such fun to know that I had some money and it belonged just to me.
 Piggy Banks for Kids
So what has happened to the piggy bank.  I'm happy to mention that piggy banks for kids are still alive and kicking.  Lets take a look at some of the available banks.

I'm not quite sure that this is a piggy bank for kids.  Just half of them.  I don't know how many boys would be interested in this bank.  This one seems way too cute for me.  Of course I grew up in a house of all boys and I just have a boy.  The fact that someone took the time to put a green bow on the pig gives it some extra credit from me, though.

I kind of like this one.  It's different.  It's not just a round piece of metal.  This one looks like it could be a con man.  That smile just makes you want to trust him, doesn't it?  I also like this one because at first glance it reminded me of the pieces of Pass the Pigs.

Anything named Smiley and Happy has to be good.  I also like the silver color.  This guy looks cool, like he could fit into any home decor you place him in.  Very understated, but I like this guy.  We could be friends.

With a name like Sweet Chocolate, what could go wrong?  I give this one credit for looking the most lifelike.  I mean, you don't really want a pig for a toy, but this one looks like what you imagine a pig looking like.

This is my favorite of all the piggy banks for kids.  I don't think it's ever too soon to teach kids some valuable financial lessons.  This piggy bank allows kids to designate money for saving, spending, investing, and donating.  Whether that donating is simply giving money to a charity or tithing to a church, I think this guy teaches kids that it's a good thing to bless others when you've been blessed (even if it's just being given a buck by your grandmother).

There are many, many other types of piggy banks for kids out there.  It's great that even as this world moves towards being a more technology-friendly society, there are still innocent things such as piggy banks for kids that can help kids stay kids.
