Tea Party (23627)

Planning tea parties for children you have to remember tea parties are not just for girls anymore. Mixed gender tea parties are a way to use time when younger kids are on vacation from school or to occupy a rainy day. There are many ideas you can incorporate when creating a tea party for children the following are a few suggestions you may want to try.

Tea Party Decorations

When planning a mixed gender tea party try not to incorporate a lot of flowers and pastels. Little girls and young boys both enjoy the characters from the movie "Cars" and "Toy" story. These characters can be incorporated into a tea party setting. If you plan to purchase a children tea party set look for gender neutral characters or decorative tea sets that will make everyone feel comfortable.

Refreshments to Serve

Small bowls of individual wrapped candy, grapes, and orange slices make good refreshment for a tea party for children. They also act as decorations for the tea party table. Plan on serving finger sandwiches made of peanut butter and jelly, ham and cheese or crackers with peanut butter or cheese are easy and wholesome items to serve at a child's tea party. They are easy to make and shouldn't allow for much of a mess while the children are having their tea party.

Ice tea or pink lemonade make excellent beverage suggestions when planning for a children tea party. A powdered drink mix is also a nice beverage to serve for a tea party for children.

Tea Party Attire

When inviting children for a tea party encourage the children to dress up for the tea party in a costume of their choice. Whether it is a Spiderman costume or princess attire encourage the children to use a little imagination. If a more formal children tea party is desired then instruct them of the dress code and what they should wear when planning the tea party.

A tea party for children is a great way to teach children socialization skills. Depending on the age of the children you can plan for a tea party that can be informal and fun or one that is structured and formal yet still fun. Either way you and the children will have a wonderful time once you plan a tea party for children.
