Songs of the 1950s

The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences sponsored the first "Grammy Award" ceremony in the 50s with singers such as Perry Como and Ella Fitzgerald, two of the first recipients of the Grammy Award. The 50s was also the decade of "Rock-n-Roll," with performers such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Ritchie Valens, Fats Domino, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and James Brown, teenagers everywhere were dancing to the music. The biggest star to emerge in the 50s and to make Rock-n-Roll mainstream was Elvis Presley. He dominated the 1950s with his suggestive dance moves and songs.
