Thomas the Train bikes and Thomas the Train tricycles are fun ways for small children to ride around the neighborhood.  The popular television character has been around for years, and fans of Thomas and Friends want Thomas in every aspect of their lives.  Whether it is through books, movies, or games, Thomas is ever present.  When it comes to Thomas the Train bikes, however, it can be difficult to find one that you are comfortable with, especially when you are trying to buy bikes online.  Searching online can bring you options, but not a lot, and many of the places that do sell bikes of the smiling blue train only have tricycles available, although Thomas the Train tricycles may be what you are looking for.

Where to Find Thomas the Train Bikes and Tricycles

Despite it being tough to find Thomas the Tank Engine bikes and tricycles, it can be done.  After doing a little digging around and looking to find places to buy bikes online, there were several places that were possibly good options.

First, obviously, is Amazon.  The problem is that the selection--at least when I looked--does not include any two-wheeled bicycles.  They have several tricycles that look cool, including a couple of Thomas and Friends big wheels.

eBay can also be a good option when it comes to trying to buy bikes online.  You might be able to find a good deal from someone who is selling a bicycle that is no longer needed in their home.  The thing about Thomas is that kids quickly grow out of the Thomas and Friends stage.  So all of the stuff that they got for holidays and birthdays soon need a new home, and eBay is a good place to look for those items.  Much of the Thomas bikes and trikes on eBay is the same as what can be found on Amazon, but it can still be worth a look.

Since children grow out of Thomas almost as quickly as they fell in love with him, Craigslist is also a good place to find Thomas the Tank Engine bikes.  These will almost always be used Thomas toys, but many will be in a good condition, and at a good price.

Simply googling Thomas bikes will bring you to some other web retail stores that will possibly have the bicycle or tricycle that you are looking for.

However, if you are not looking to buy bikes online, then the usual suspects of retail stores might have a good option for you.  Toys 'R Us, Walmart, Kmart, Sears, and Target all have loads of children's bicycles, and since Thomas the Train bikes do exist, you might get lucky and find one there.

In any case, whether you want to buy bikes online or in a store, options are available, it is just a matter of finding them.

Thomas the Train Bikes Available Online

There were three bikes in particular that caught my attention when I was looking around for Thomas the Tank Engine bicycles.  The first was this 12 inch bicycle that features a one piece, light blue frame.  There is a plaque of Thomas on the handlebars and it includes a pair of training wheels.  The manufacturer's recommended age is 3-5 years.

If a 12 inch bike seems a little too big, then there is this 10 inch possibility.  It too has a Thomas the Train plaque on the front handlebars, although it is a different picture.  It also is adorned with Thomas pictures and drawings on the light blue frame.

For kids who are a little more advanced, but still want a Thomas the Train bike, there is this 12 inch bicycle with brakes on the handlebars.  The two bicycles above have coaster brakes, meaning they stop by pedaling backwards.  However, the bicycle below is stopped by squeezing the lever on the handlebars.  It takes a little more coordination, but it's something everyone learns eventually.  Still, the bike comes with removable training wheels, meaning new bike riders can safely learn how to brake from the handlebars.

If you want to buy bikes online, then you have to do a little searching around.  A google search will do, but there is a chance there won't be a one stop shop for Thomas the Train bikes.

Thomas the Train Tricycles

Unlike the bikes, there are easy ways to find Thomas the Train tricycles.  I suppose that makes sense since Thomas fans skew very young, before bike riding is possible.

This first tricycle is called a Thomas the Train Tough Trike.  It is made by Fisher-Price and has the look and style that you would expect from a tricycle featuring Thomas and Friends.  It has a wide wheel base, easy-grip handlebars, and big pedals to help make moving easier.  The large seat has a storage compartment underneath, and the tires have tread that makes riding everywhere a breeze.

Another choice for a Thomas the Tank Engine tricycle is the Thomas and Train Lights and Sounds Trike by Fisher-Price.  It has electronic lights and sounds to add even more fun to riding around the driveway, park, or neighborhood.  Out of the trike comes sounds, phrases, and the Thomas and Friends theme song.  Pretty cool.  Like the Tough Trike, this tricycle has easy-grip handlebars, big foot pedals, and durable tread tires.  However, it has an oversized front wheel.  The seat has three positions, so it can grow with the child.

Thomas the Train Bicycle Helmet

If you do purchase a Thomas the Train bike, you of course have to get a helmet.  This Thomas the Train bicycle helmet can help your child ride around with their favorite television character protecting their head.  It features the light blue coloring you would expect from a Thomas the Train item.  Thomas and his two friends are chugging down the tracks as your child rides down the street.

If you do find yourself in need of a Thomas the Train bicycle, best of luck.  Children love that train, and with Thomas the Train bikes and tricycles you can eventually find a good option, whether you want to buy bikes online or elsewhere.
