Portable Treadmill
Just like with any other purchase, if you want to get the
most for your money when buying a portable treadmill you need to keep a few key
points in mind before you settle on your choice:
The Treadmill's Size
When you're talking about size, you need to know two things: how big the treadmill is when it's ready to use and how big it is when it's folded up for storage and transport. The first thing you're going to want to do is find out how much space you have available, because you'll probably keep it in one place most of the time, even though it's portable.
After you're done measuring the space, check out the treadmills that your preferred fitness store has on display. Now you need to measure the portable treadmills to find out which models will fit in the space - don't be too obvious! Then try to get hold of an employee who can give you the treadmill's dimensions while in its folded, compact state.
You'll also need to know if the treadmill you're looking at has wheels for easy movement or you can lean it up against a wall; where and how you can store it are important considerations when you're buying a portable folding treadmill.
The Treadmill's Power
Specifically, I'm talking about maximum speed and
horsepower; if you're a big person, make sure you get a treadmill with more
horsepower so you can exercise comfortably. If you don't know exactly what you
want, you should just make sure your treadmill has at least 2HP. But even so,
you can't always get a high top speed with a portable treadmill.
The Running Surface
One of the most important considerations when buying your treadmill is whether or not you can run comfortably on a treadmill, which becomes all the more important if you're tall because you will likely take longer strides when walking or running.
The size of the running surface is often skimped on when choosing portable treadmills because smaller treadmills can be stowed more easily, but you must make sure that you can actually run on your treadmill before you buy one, otherwise it'll be unusable!
So if you're really looking for a good portable treadmill, follow the three points laid out above and you'll be completely ready to make a good purchase; but as a parting word, you might find the best portable treadmill for your needs in the store, but hold off on buying it. When you get to the comfort of your own home, look online for your treadmill on Amazon or eBay. You can end up saving quite a lot if you order your treadmill on the Internet instead of buying in-store.
