The fact of the matter is that if want to live healthy lives, we need to contribute to it by paying attention to the foods that we eat and make sure we make a conscious decision to choose foods that aid the good quality and life expectancy of our lives.

These are the most common types of power foods and generally, we are encouraged to have five different types of
fruits a day. This is not by mistake, fruits are known to produce antioxidants which help in eradicating damage in the body and eliminate the risk of cancer. Some fruits contain vitamin C and A which are some of the most important vitamins for our health because of the boost it gives our immune system amongst other things. Blueberries are an example of power packed foods that contain a very high amount of antioxidants.

These are full of omega-3 fatty acids. The seeds also have omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids which assist in
combating high cholesterol, diabetes and heart diseases. Creative ways of using the flax seeds is to have them ground or purchase the ground one and add to pancake mix, sprinkle it in your yoghurt, eat with cereals or just add to fruit smoothies.
