Practice Better Niche Marketing

By | 2 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Better niche marketing is a skill that every online marketer or writer needs to know how to do. Not only does niche marketing focus all efforts on customers with the most potential for conversion but it also saves money, time, and resources by not marketing to those who are unlikely to be interested in your product.

Niche marketing is typically considered to be an online marketing program however it does not have to cater only to the online crowd. Traditional businesses should also understand the concept of niche marketing especially in times where marketing campaign budgets might be slashed. For instance if a business known that young mothers tend to use their product and many young mothers live in a specific neighborhood then that neighborhood might be a great place to market via billboards or signage.

Television advertisers do this all the time. Retirees and stay at home parents often are home during the middle of the weekday thus their niche products that focus on these crowds are marketed on TV. The same goes for late night TV with their respective niche markets and products.

Just because niche marketing is thought to be narrow in focus doesn't mean it is not worth your time. If you were to start a marketing campaign for your online product, lets say an eBook, you would spend a great deal of money or time marketing this product to everybody. Consequentially you would also receive very little reward for your time and or money spent on the online marketing campaign because people looking for a product on 'X' are likely not interested in your product on "Y". If you only market your product tot hose interested in 'Y' however you will receive far more reward for your time and or monetary investment.

If you run a niche website you can effectively increase your niche website profits by only marketing your site to those who might be interested in it. Do not start a niche marketing campaign online that is broad in scope. Only market your website to those who will have the highest conversion rates and to those who are the easiest customers for you to obtain for their respective benefit to you and your business.

Similarly your marketing campaigns for traditional businesses should be very focused on a specific goal and only directed at a small subset of predefined people. Especially in the physical world marketing campaigns cost money so you don't want to waste your investment on people who are unlikely to convert.

To summarize, no matter what your product or service and no matter where it is offered you need to make your marketing more efficient. You need to get involved in niche marketing where you identify and focus intently on a small subset of potential customers. The more you practice with niche marketing the better you will get at it. After a while you may find better niche marketing strategies as you go. Niche marketing is an effective way in make your marketing campaigns more efficient so good luck in running your own.

Niche marketing is by far the best approach for many businesses, especially business to business. A targeted approach means you can even drill down to target particular individuals within an organisation, such as CEOs or CFOs. Its far better to influence purchasing decisions from the top down, rather than the bottom up.

That's very true JS - better niche marketing will always zero in on the decision makers and you can further practice it in a more efficient way by targeting the 80/20 rule. Target the 20 percent that is most likely to convert.
