Preventing Stretch Marks
Are you interested in methods of preventing stretch marks? Maybe you are an expectant mother who would like to know how to avoid the appearance of stretch marks before they start so that you're not troubled with them after your baby has arrived. Of course, it's possible that you've already got a few stretch marks and just want to make sure there aren't any more. Either way, expectant or not, if you're trying to prevent stretch marks there are some sure fire methods you can use to keep them at bay.
Take In More Water
Drinking more water is one of the greatest methods of preventing stretch marks, and it's easy to do. Drinking greater amounts of water will provide your skin with more elasticity, which will keep your skin from tearing and prevent you from getting stretch marks. Usually eight glasses of water a day is enough, but you're going to need a lot more; three liters of water a day should be your target amount to drink. If you are a very active person, then you should really be drinking a gallon, or more if you at all possible, of water daily.
I realize that this sounds like an insane amount of water to be drinking each day, and yes you will be running to the restroom quite often, but this is your skin's requirement.
Do Some More Exercising
Adding more exercise to your increased drinking water is
another method of preventing stretch marks. The reason? Many times stretch
marks are a result of gaining too much weight, so by eating right and getting
plenty of exercise, you can avoid stretching your skin, and not stretching your
skin will help you avoid stretch marks.
An hour weight training workout with a following forty-five minute cardiovascular
session, if done at least three days in a week, will also help you prevent
stretchmarks. Combining exercise with a nutritious diet will help you stay trim
and slim, while keeping you very physically fit as well.
Try Cocoa Butter
Rubbing cocoa butter on your skin is another method of preventing stretch marks that is often suggested. You can find this stretch mark removal cream in most local pharmacies or markets, and the benefit of cocoa butter is that it promotes collagen production as well as increasing skin elasticity. When your skin loses collagen in a certain area of skin, stretch marks appear there, which is why using a cocoa butter can help prevent stretchmarks.
An important side note for this, if you are about to become pregnant, begin applying this to avoid having to go in for stretch mark removal surgery in the future.
Most of these remedies are easy enough to find in stores, but if you should have some problems, try finding them online...good luck!
