There are many types of prefold cloth diapers available on the market. So which one is right for your baby? With so many to choose from, the two top manufacturers that deserve a closer look are Gerber and Chinese brands.

The Gerber brand is known throughout the world with a stellar reputation in regards to baby products. Their prefold cloth diapers come in a variety of sizes to fit all babies, no matter what size. The Chinese brand however has a few more layers built in making theirs somewhat more absorbent.

The only real issue with this is that with more layers, it makes it more difficult to fit these on to a smaller baby. This makes the Gerber diaper a more logical choice for smaller infants while the Chinese brand would suit slightly older babies as they tend to make bigger messes anyway. Choose the brand that fits based on the child's size.

Wash these as you would any cloth diaper, but keep in mind that the Chinese brand will shrink the first few washes. The Gerber prefold cloth diaper is pre shrunk, so this will not be an issue with them. While shrinkage will be minimal, it still needs to be taken into account when buying the correct size.

The cost for the Gerber diaper is about a dollar each while the Chinese brand sells for seventy five cents each. Both of these brands withstand many washings and uses. But if price is an issue, then the Gerber is the right choice.

Prefold cloth diapers must be used in conjunction with a diaper cover of some kind. There are many available from both manufacturers. Different colors and designs will help you make a unique statement while keeping babies surroundings dry.
