Features, Benefits, and Disadvantages

Although most quality machines cost around $1,000 to buy, the Proform Cardio Trainer Treadmill with 16 iFit Workouts is around $600 with a decent amount of features. Whether it's for the home gym, business office, or as a gift, the Proform Cardio Trainer can serve as a gift or for personal use. Every treadmill has different benefits, whether it's the length of warranty, speed, heart rate monitor, calorie counter, etc. A new popular trend that has surfaced on most workout machines including elliptical exercisers and stair climbers, is the introduction of iFit workouts. Many workout equipments now offer these home based courses incorporated into the machines to offer alternatives to gyms, which is really convenient for parents or people who do not have a ton of time to spend at the gym. Are these home courses actually helpful? We're going to look at this feature as well as a variety of other features this machine has compared against other gym equipment machines.

Air Conditioning

Any model that is not on the cheap end ($300-$400) is expected to have some sort of fan or air conditioning. The Proform Cardio Trainer Treadmill with 16 iFit Workouts utilizes a fan next to the menu. This fan is nice to have while running because it can help cool the face and body.

Assembly

Assembling the Proform Cardio Trainer Treadmill with 16 iFit Workouts is not that complicated, which is a nice benefit. Sometimes even the simpleist elliptical exercisers can be time consuming. Last year my dad bought my  mom an elliptical for her birthday, and my dad asked if my brother and I could set it up while she was gone at work. It literally took three hours to set the darn thing up. Needless to say, it was very frustrating and there were definitely some explicatives that flew out of my mouth that day. Anyways, it usually takes about two hours to setup the treadmill, which is very respectable considering the overall size of it.Noise Level

Extra Cushion

it claims to relieve up to 25% of stress from your joints. I'm not an expert in this area, but the Proform Cardio Trainer Treadmill with 16 iFit Workouts does offer above average stress release for your joints.

Incline

The Proform Cardio Trainer Treadmill with 16 iFit Workouts has a 0 to 10% incline control. This is utilized for when you don't want to run as hard but still want to get that deep leg burn. The incline control is average for competing models because many believe that it doesn't incline enough. Still, as long as you're not a hill crazy person, the 10% incline should work just fine.

Noise

Cheaper cardio machines typically are very noisy, and unless they are situated in the garage, it can be a major pain to have someone use them. The Proform Cardio Trainer Treadmill with 16 iFit Workouts has a specific fan aimed at reducing the noise level. This feature is particularly nice when you want to get a quick sweat in during the morning hours while people may still be sleeping.

Special Features

Any gym equipment that's more expensive has nice little special features that make you say, "Cool!" The Proform Cardio Trainer Treadmill is iPod compatible, has a wireless heart monitor, and has the 16 iFit workouts. To start, the iPod compatibility is a huge plus for any music fans. The sound system takes the pressure of having to wear headphones, which can get tangled quite easily. The wireless heart monitor is a nice feature, but many customers have claimed that it doesn't work properly, so buyer beware. The 16 iFit workouts are perfect for people who need a little extra push in the morning. There are four different types of workouts: weight loss, endurance, aerobic, and performance. Depending on what your goal is, it's a great addition that most gym equipment these days are incorporating.

Speed Adjustments

Many cheaper brands have a speed adjustment that takes time in order for the speed to increase. With the Proform Cardio Trainer Treadmill with 16 iFit Workouts, there is no delay. It's able to instantly change speed anywhere from 0 to 10 miles per hour. If you're part of the instant generation, then this might be the one you are looking for.

Warranty

The warranty is average for gym equipment of similar value. It's lifetime frame and motor, as well as two year parts and in-home labor.

Weight

It's no surprise that gym equipment can be extremely heavy. Fortunately, you won't need a full football team to move it to whether it's upstairs or downstairs. Two males can move it around without breaking a back, so it's nice to know you don't need a huge amount of manpower.

Overall, the Proform Cardio Trainer Treadmill with 16 iFit Workouts is a great machine. It's loaded with features, some that are flawed but others that are great. Many people have had excellent experiences while others haven't had as great of an experience. The main thing to take is that it offers a good amount of features for the price, but don't be surprised if you don't like one or two things about the Proform Cardio Trainer Treadmill with 16 iFit Workouts.
