The heating elements radiate heat into a room, although many quartz heater models also have a fan. This circulates the heat further into a room and this can be a more effective heating method.

Manufacturers to look to if you are considering a quartz heater include names such as Optimus and Patton. However there are many more to choose from including Fostoria, iHeater and TPI. Safety is of prime concern when considering heaters for your home. In this regards quartz heaters can be a good choice. Most have excellent safety features incorporated in the design and this can include automatic shut-off if the heater is knocked over. Automatic shut-off also occurs if the heater for any reason overheats. These can help to avoid costly and potentially dangerous accidents. Some quartz heaters are enclosed in a cabinet that remains cool even when the heater is working at full power. This can help to avoid injuries to anyone who accidentally touches the heater.

Quartz heaters are available for all budgets. At the more affordable end of the market there are many heaters that cost $50 or less. However if you are interested in a more sophisticated quartz heater which comes enclosed in a cabinet, these can retail for up to around the $500 mark.
