Quick Weight Loss
So many people are always looking online for the best way to quick weight loss. Every year americans spend approximately 42 billion dollars on weight loss products, and according to the latest study, about 60% of americans are considered overweight. It's no wonder people are desperate to lose weight. With so many programs and products out there, it's difficult for the average person to figure out the best course of action to lose weight. Hopefully some of the strategies in this article will help some people.
Most people realize that losing weight is all about calories, but some don't realize just how simple this concept is. All you have to do to lose weight is to make sure you eat less calories than you burn off. It doesn't necessarily have to be like this ever day, but it needs to be consistent. That's really all you have to do. Make sure you burn more calories than you consume.
Some people think that counting calories can be tough. I say that's ridiculous. Almost all packaged foods have calorie counts right on the package. For foods like produce and meats that don't carry the calorie counts, you can either go on the internet and find what you need or buy a simple calorie count book that you can get at any bookstore. Studies show that simply counting calories helps people lose weight, even if they don't try to make any real changes in their diets. This is because when you're aware of what you're eating, you automatically take a little more care in what you put into your body.
For those that are computer savvy, make an excel spreadsheet that shows your foods eaten for the day and their calorie counts, and even the serving size if that helps. If you don't have a computer, a notebook will do. Beside that have the amount of calories someone of your sex and size burns without any exercise. That means the amount your body burns at rest. Then have a column for exercise. You can go online to find out how many calories different exercises burn when you do them for certain times. Then just make sure that the burn amounts add up to more that the food calories.
Obviously there are some other things you can do to help you achieve fast weight loss. Drinking plenty of water is good for weight loss and general health. Not only does water help your organs do their jobs better, but it aids your muscles in rebuilding after a workout. Water is also important for energy. Most of the time when people feel tired or low in energy it's because they are dehydrated. Water also helps your body flush toxins and waste products out efficiently.
Exercise is another important part of the weight loss puzzle. Getting some kind of regular exercise every day, or at the very least, five times a week, is imperative to help your body burn excess calories. Exercise doesn't have to be hitting the weights or going jogging. It can simple things like gardening, playing with your kids, going for a bike ride, or going for a nature walk. In fact, it's better if you find something that you like. You are more likely to stick to your exercise routine if you're doing something that you enjoy. Even mild exercise can make a difference to your weight loss, especially if you are morbidly obese. Just try to do things in baby steps. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, just get out there and do something every day. Slowly you can increase the time you exercise and soon you'll be up to an hour a day with no problems.
Adjusting your meals so that you eat 5 or 6 smaller meals instead of 3 larger ones will help you lose weight quickly. Eating more often keeps your metabolism revving at its top speed which in turn keeps burning calories at its peak efficiency. Your blood sugar levels will also stay more consistent which in turn will keep your energy levels from dipping. Another advantage is that you won't have to prepare a big meal. Your smaller meals will be more like snacks, so if your lifestyle is one of being constantly on the go, this method of eating will work well for you. Just make sure you get some form of protein with almost every meal. Nuts, cheese, and yogurt are all good sources of protein and quick and easy to add into your diet.
Another diet tip is to try and eat things that are high in nutrients. Green vegetables like brocolli, cabbage and spinach. Kidney beans and lentils are good. Fresh fruit like blueberries, strawberries, apples and bananas. Nuts and seeds like almonds, sunflower seeds, and walnuts. The nice thing about high nutrient foods is that they keep you feeling full longer. When we feel hungry, it's actually our bodies craving nutrients for the various systems and organs. Eating foods like potato chips, cookies and fast food are what is called empty calories. Empty because they are low or empty in nutrients. That's why we get hungry so quickly after eating empty calorie foods. Eating high nutrient foods satisfy the cravings of your body for the things it needs, so you stay feeling full because you gave your body what it was asking for.
There are lots of weight loss programs out there. Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Nutri-System and many others. Most of the successful weight loss plans base their program around the concept of counting calories, whether it be hidden in a point system or in custom food products. The thing is, you can count calories yourself without spending any money on expensive weight loss systems. If you follow some of the strategies I've outlined above, you will be well on your way to experiencing your own quick weight loss, and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you did it all on your own.
